A Thoughtful and Potent Full Moon

A Thoughtful and Potent Full Moon

When the Full Moon syncs up on Monday afternoon, it will be dramatic, since the degree of the Sun and the Moon, the seventh of Scorpio and of Taurus, respectively, closely matches that of Pluto in Capricorn, Chiron in Pisces and Uranus in Aries, triggering these potent cosmic energies yet again in this closing of the year. This Full Moon also represents the fulfillment of the concepts that were spawned by the recent Libra New Moon, which was powerful in itself during this crucial time frame of the late fall of 2012; we might want to consider that we have come to a crossroads where we can more clearly see what it is that we are in the process of manifesting. The transformation wrought by the three outer planets, including Uranus, these "Ambassadors from the galaxy," are working their way into the very fabric of our lives, inclining us in the direction that the universe sincerely wants us to take. Like a rising tide, the cosmos works though us in this way very slowly, almost imperceptibly, but in the end comes to be recognized as entirely futile to resist.

Mercury will have just entered Sagittarius, the sign of its impending retrograde, and there squares Neptune, while Mars simultaneously makes a quintile aspect. The quintile represents a spiritual connection, and Neptune is of course a spiritual planetary energy, so that this combination takes us even further away from mundane affairs and into the magical realm between the worlds, and this only two days before the Day of the Dead, or Halloween. Chiron remains conjunct to Neptune, just a few degrees away, while Saturn in early Scorpio makes an exact trine to their midpoint, so that we might be sensing and benefiting by powerful healing energies and feeling as well the sorrow of our all too human condition.

The Sabian symbol for the Full Moon positions are, for the Sun: "Deep-sea divers" and for the Moon: "A woman of Samaria." This second symbol refers to the Samaritans who were in biblical days at odds with and cast aside by the more socially well-connected Jews, but yet whom Jesus nevertheless addressed at Jacob's well. The symbol speaks to us in our day as a reminder that we are all essentially one, no matter how hard we try to hide it. The divers are we ourselves, delving down into the great unknown that lies within us, there to find our hidden treasure trove of ancient wisdom. This is a factor that is quite precisely apropos for these times, as also revealed in the current prominence of Neptune and Chiron. Additionally, Neptune's symbol is "A public market" meaning that as we transform, we have to take everyone with us, for in our emerging global society we are all of us inextricably linked. The symbol corresponding to Pluto is also quite cogent: "Birds in the house singing happily," which Marc Edmond Jones speaks about as referring to the descent of spirit.

These are amazing times. As the Mayans foretold, we are on the verge of breakthrough to cosmic consciousness, which they observed from their perspective as the ending of one series of cycles and the beginning of another. This end-of-year time for 2012 that we are entering right now is a powerful one, and a reminder to echo in our every thought and in all our actions the real reasons why we are here. It's not the getting and the selling, the jockeying for power position, although these take up so much of our time. Instead it is deeper that that, a reason that each of us already knows on the inside, through information available to each one of us as we remember what we essentially are: unique representatives of an angel host attempting to repopulate our world.
