You are seeking stability in the midst of stormy weather, Cancer, surfing the waves of change. This is an interesting and in some ways quite a difficult time for you but also one that is full of blessings. There has to be a way that you can find to make your path from the non-functioning present circumstance to the unimaginable future. The steps you take are conscious ones, but unconscious forces drive them, as you undergo your very own velvet revolution. In this process nothing is simple or exactly what it appears to be. You do best by watching and waiting, to whatever extent this is possible, entirely without agenda or expectation.

As the month begins, you are firmly invested in exploring your inner world. This is true even though outer manifestation beckons, especially in terms of relationship and family dynamics. You are still feeling the boost to your self-esteem represented by the New Moon from the middle of last month that took place in your sector of creative self-expression, and have discovered through the intervening perspective shifts that your presentation must involve Spirit as a principle component rather than a bit player. In that context, you are opening to new possibilities of partnership with the surrounding collective and with an inner concept of right livelihood that has been evolving for you over recent months. The wisdom of tribe or family has come to supplant a stricter notion of self-reliance that winds up being more isolating than inclusive. The Last Quarter Moon of Tuesday, December 8th, might provide a moment of tension in your process, and the consequential enlightenment that comes when you least expect it. As you give of yourself and recognize the depth of your connection to others, careful communication is key. You want to be sure to avoid resentment, perhaps by making it your watchword that if it doesn't feel good you won't do it. The New Moon taking place in the middle of the following week, on Wednesday, December 16th, confirms you in the essentially unworldly turn that life has recently taken for you, and opens new doorways in the same direction. You are drawn now to consider how you can be of actual service to others on the planet and to discover a calling that matches the idealism of your inner vision. Opportunity for growth is massive for you now, but it has to be growth in the right spiritual direction. The Winter Solstice that takes place on Monday, December 21st, brings partnership more fully into the picture, as you seek allies in your struggle for transcendence. When the First Quarter Moon hits a few days later, on Thursday, December 24th, there is a time of relative tension that only yields to your making conscious choices. It is important to note that the Mercury retrograde period of time beginning at this juncture will mean that following through with existing plans is a better idea than forging new ones, at least until after the end of January when Mercury finally recovers its lost Zodiacal ground. There is an evolutionary pressure upon you now that lessons when you pick the direction where things are already going and decide to head that way. The Lunar Eclipse in your sign the last day of the year, on the morning of December 31st, represents a powerful turning point also. You are not just settling for whatever you can get but actively striving to get what you truly need in order to be fulfilled.
