This is the first month of the rest of your life, Cancer. You are in the midst of a big push forward and yet also holding yourself firmly in place so as not to float away. Part of you wants to stay rooted in the past, and in the safe haven of your home base, while another and larger part of yourself yearns to go sailing out on the high seas of the adventure that calls to you. Deciding your course might turn out to be difficult, if not impossible, and there are also unintended consequences that could complicate your plans. Be that as it may, your choices are still extremely powerful at this juncture, and whatever you decide will prove to be an important springboard for future development.

As the month begins, you are feeling extremely energized regarding your work in the world and in particular where you might be heading with it. Career options and your success on the public stage are very much on your mind these days, and, perhaps even more to the point, the spiritual underpinnings of career and professional life. You are beginning to strongly suspect that mere logic alone will not fully explain how to locate yourself within the arc of development that represents your journey to the point that you have now reached. It is not so much about achievement but about recognition of the spiritual factors that have coincided to allow you to step into this time, this place. The Taurus New Moon takes place late in the evening of Monday, May 2nd, and serves to bring much greater energy to your process. The week that follows is the best chance that you will have all year to visualize your goals for the future within the pressure-cooker of transformation that is in some ways being thrust upon you. Yet, in another way of looking at the changes that you are in the midst of, your current situation is exactly what your higher Self has ordered up for you at this time. It is vital that you choose your steps wisely, because you are at an important crossroads over the course of this particular monthly cycle. When the Moon enters your sign on the evening of Friday, May 6th, it might serve to solidify you in your process. This is an important moment for you when you are more comfortable in your own body and at the level of personality while simultaneously feeling your way into greater reliance on Spirit to guide you through the maelstrom of the outer world. Your process now represents an interesting amalgam of inner guidance and outer manifestation, each one feeding on the other in an endless spiral dance. It helps to simply acknowledge the partially unknowable nature of reality and relax into the dance. With the First Quarter Moon a few days later, on Tuesday, the 10th, you are tuning in to both the glories and the draw-backs of the process that you have connected up with for yourself at this time. This can be a time of relative tension, when the world and others are too much with you. You are very aware of the power of the outer world to impinge upon you and you in turn on it, but you remain anchored as well within your own inner universe. At this juncture you are also seeing where you can forge ahead more fully with important plans and where you need to hold back. The Full Moon a week later, taking place on Tuesday, May 17th, serves as a time of fulfillment and a place of calm amidst the storm. You are seeking to integrate the various energies swirling around you both outside of and within your psyche, and as well the various projects that have gotten you so fired up lately, and largely succeeding. Then with the Last Quarter Moon of Tuesday the 24th you are mulling over the changes still coming down. Relationship with significant others in your life is a big piece of the action for you right now. This is a time when you both have the opportunity to see more clearly into the process that you are engaged in – a creative and also a radically transforming process – and yet also must guard against over-idealization and self-deception. Your ideals run high at this time, and you are extremely inspired by the prospect of major change in your life as well as intimidated by this prospect. It helps to recognize that you are not just one person but many, and that you are in any case the arms of a benevolent universe which will take you exactly where you need to go. If it turns out to be a different place than you originally envisioned with all your careful planning, so be it, even though your very planning is an important part of your overall process of growth.
