Capricorn Horoscope (December 22 - January 19)

Times are tough in some ways for you these days, Capricorn, but you can counter the weight of necessity by amping up your own creative juices. Some kind of attitude adjustment is likely. A maelstrom of changing perspectives and philosophical musings still allows you to benefit from letting the simple pleasures guide you for a while. Romance and play are more readily available to you now than usual and constitute important ways that you can let your own light shine through. As you manage to keep alert to your possibilities you continue your process of throwing off the influence of received conditioning and automatic thinking. Surprising information serves to remind you that the steady base beneath you is moving and that you must remain flexible to keep your footing on the rolling deck.

As the month begins, you are feeling into the secret roots of your being, allowing the realization to sink in that this area of your life is an important although largely hidden part of your life�s journey. The way that you operate mentally right now is based on an eclectic mix of information and intuition, which serves you well in this powerful year of transformation. In the light of these more mystical leanings, your focus for this monthly cycle is your self-expression, which is varied and vast and reflective of the giant changes that you have been engaged in all year long. With the advent of the First Quarter Moon of Friday, May 1st, there might be some moments of tension in your process of self-recognition, but these will be minor compared to the overall forward movement of this time period. You are departing from the beaten path in all your endeavors and although this can be scary it is also necessary for you right now. With the Full Moon a week later, on Friday, May 8th, you are likely to see more deeply into your future calling. Mercury is retrograde as of the 6th, and this period through to the middle of next month is very useful for introspection, and for journaling about where you are heading in your life these days, but not so good for leaping ahead with new plans or decisions. Your worldview is changing along with changing circumstances and it is important to reflect on where the universe is taking you, and why. There is always a higher spiritual reason to be found if you search diligently. The Last Quarter Moon takes place a week later, on Saturday night and Sunday morning, May 16th and 17th, capping a day when your ruler Saturn also turns direct in your sector of higher mind. The week that follows, the last week of the lunar cycle, symbolizes even more strongly a time to reflect on what is taking place all around you and the metamorphosis that you are going through. The way that your values and your resources are shifting is both freeing and somewhat diffuse in action, resisting categorization. This naturally leads to fear of the unknown, which can change to euphoria in an instant, so that the best policy is not to be swayed very strongly in either direction. The New Moon that comes along in the following weekend, taking place on Sunday, May 24th, will be grounding in its influence, even as it stimulates you mentally and also reminds you once more, and powerfully, of the changes that are being thrust upon you. Change may be difficult to relate to but is omnipresent since life itself is change. The only hardship is in the resistance to change that is produced by the lower mind. As Shakespeare puts it, �there�s nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.� Wrapping your mind around this idea and truly embracing it is easier said than done, but definitely repays the effort.
