Capricorn Horoscope (December 22 - January 19)
Cardinal Earth. Your ruling planet is Saturn.

The end of your year is somber and philosophical as usual, Capricorn, this time even more so. You are embodying a practicing hermit this month, sitting alone on your mountaintop to answer questions. The most important supplicant is you. With your thought process so profoundly contemplative right now, everything that you encounter leads you ever more deeply into yourself. Although your outer persona is present and functioning, the real action takes place behind a closed door within your soul. After the Winter Solstice you begin to open up a bit and allow others access; but you benefit from recognizing that an important piece of all your interactions remains clothed in the mysterious inner spaces behind your conscious mind.

As the month begins, you are in the world but not of it. You are totally dedicated to real-world activities such as making a buck and advancing career-wise, although the higher use of these activities has also been occupying your mind lately, in terms of being helpful to the social matrix and advancing its evolution. In the final analysis, your most important product these days is you. When you put yourself on track it is like you are functioning as a piece of a hologram, so that the universe itself falls into place around you. With the New Moon of Sunday, December 5th, there is fresh energy for your various parts and for the process of integration between them, and that energy comes to you from deep inside. You are pulling through from the unseen world that surrounds and supports this one the strands of a new creativity that informs and underlies that of the more obvious and surface-oriented mundane world. As the unseen world grow stronger in your imagination the mundane world dims, and it might feel as though the financial and other resources that you need to keep it going are fuzzy and vague to you right now. You might also feel the insufficiency, compared to the ideal you hold in your mind's eye, of what you bring to the table to accomplish your aims. In another way though, you have the opportunity to remold these factors to your heart's desire. It is important to have faith in your process and to try not to be confused as you proceed along what is actually a very different type of path – into a larger and more cosmic form of reality – that you are steering yourself through. The First Quarter Moon of Monday, December 13th, which follows by three days also the retrograde of Mercury, will introduce new elements to this virtual reality video game which is your life right now, and which you are after all playing for keeps. With Mercury moving backwards in your identity sector, you are thinking and rethinking your position on many different aspects of your experience, and especially in how you view the persona that you present to the world at large. There might be a tendency for anger or upset at this juncture, or for reactivity as you deal with the issues that others bring to the party, so you are well-advised to be on guard against overly quick reactions. Count to three. This energy is obviously not entirely negative, but is useful for a creative response to communication and to the life of the mind. You have had many varied and brilliant ideas during the late fall period and they just keep coming. It is useful to be writing down as much as you can manage via either blogging, emailing and e-note-taking, or just old-fashioned journaling. With the Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse on Tuesday, December 21st, in coincidence with the Winter Solstice, you are entering into a new world. Partners are helpful now in helping to balance out your perspective with theirs. Work and career take on some potentially crazy twists at this time and the profound thoughts keep coming, perhaps including ideas for how to transcend your current work environment and transition into a more integrated statement of your values. Mercury is still retrograde at this time and moving through your sector of dreams and deep inner visions, so that even though you are in many ways more fully occupying yourself with mundane reality at this time, a spiritual component of your world is surprisingly activated. With the Last Quarter Moon of the following week, taking place after the Christmas holiday on Monday, December 27th, you are turning another corner of your psyche. This is a powerful time of summing up, when you are introspective but for good cause, seeking in your musings to find the key that will turn in the keyhole of change for you and unlock the portals to your next phase, opening up for you after the end of the year.
