Gemini Horoscope (May 21 - June 20)
Mutable Air. Your ruling planet is Mercury.

This is a time for a different kind of progress, Gemini. You are revving your engine but you are not covering much ground. Although your ideas are coming fast and furious, opening up a novel way forward into a future that you can really believe in, you are also at the moment feeling somewhat stuck. But, just as a fallow period is good for a field, and as the butterfly must wait out its time of dormancy in the cocoon, so you must watch and wait. By the end of the month you will emerge stronger and wiser and ready to more fully inhabit your new skin.

As the month begins, you are delving more deeply into home and family issues that have been on your mind for quite some time now. This is actually an excellent opportunity to refine your viewpoint and to embrace a more expansive attitude on your life in general, since your ruler Mercury is retrograding through your root sector – home and family concerns, psychological basis – and this continues in one form or another until nearly the end of the month. This means that you are rethinking all aspects of your physical and psychical existence, including the sense of security you need to remain content, which is usually wrapped up in some aspect of your home environment. As you attempt to redefine yourself in this area in some way, this is an excellent opportunity to journal or to converse with a trusted confident concerning your situation. There could be issues that come up for you now of familial relationships versus your own deeper needs, or those of private versus public or simply reflections involving the physical nature of your surroundings. The Last Quarter Moon in your sign at the very start of the month, taking place on the 1st, makes for a degree of tension in your process as you contemplate these factors and try to make sense out of your summed-up perceptions. There could be surprising developments in this timeframe, and also a few days later, on the 3rd, when the Sun and Mercury are conjunct. Then things could change again the following week, with the New Moon, which comes along on Wednesday, September 8th, in the same sector of deep inner process and family issues. This mid-week time period marks what is theoretically a fresh start with whatever it is that you are attempting in this area, but in another way all bets are off with Mercury also retrograding through this same sector of your chart. Creatively, you are also on both stop and go at this time. You have tons of productive energy but you feel the need to impose limits and set boundaries on that very productivity so that it remains more firmly grounded in real-world parameters. Another peak of the Mercury retrograde period comes a few days later on the 12th, when the messenger of the gods changes direction turning once more to direct motion. The First Quarter Moon of Tuesday, September 14th, signals a time of trials when you are attempting to discern what portion of what you are currently instigating might indeed be viable in the months to come. With the Full Moon of Thursday, September 23rd, you might be able to come closer to an answer. This is a powerful time for you, when once again you are enjoined to take a closer look at how your visionary impulses mingle and coexist with hard-nosed practical advice from others around you and from your own inner voices. It is difficult walking the tightrope between them but good for your spiritual evolution, which is benefiting from your successes and even from the failures at achieving your idealistic aims.
