The holidays are over but the excitement of the season is only just beginning for you, Gemini. You are in the midst of far-reaching changes. Your sensitivity is high and idealism rages, so that you might need to defend yourself against putting someone on a pedestal or outright self-deception. You have been rethinking your partnership dynamic lately and that is just part of the story that is unfolding within the current timeframe. The most important relationship that is transforming for you right now is with yourself. Your largely hidden inner spaces are coming closer to the surface over the coming weeks and it opens up an entirely new way for you of being in the world.

As the month begins your future is calling, and it is not quite the future that you thought you had in mind for yourself, even as recently as a few short weeks ago. You are forging new territory in intimacy this month, and in intimate connection with your own internal spaces, whether you are ready for that or not. Perhaps especially if not. This comes from a compassionate assessment of where you have been – of everything in your life that has led up to this present moment – and of your actions past and present and of others in your life as well. You have been contemplating relationship in all its forms for the past month while your ruler Mercury has been retrograde, and these matters are now shifting. Your research may well continue for another two weeks or more before being translated into direct action. The Solar Eclipse and New Moon of Tuesday, January 4th, represents a crucial phase of this time period, when you are simultaneously startled by new impulses and feeling tied down to your same old rut that you are more than willing to break out of. Imagination is the key and it will open many doors although you must also remain cautious so that you don't slip away entirely from solid ground and drift out into surrounding space. You are also subject to startling epiphanies of meaning now that surprise, enlighten and certainly entertain you, so long as you do not remain stuck on predictable outcomes. The First Quarter Moon of Wednesday, January 12th, could be a somewhat difficult time. This is when the rubber meets the road in terms of what you are attempting to accomplish over this monthly time frame. Since Mercury is still emerging from its retrograde shadow your plans once made might have to be revised after the weekend of the 15th. There is a visionary sense to your process now that is very apparent – perhaps even more so than over the rest of this period. There is also a feisty energy in the air that gives you plenty of courage to move forward with your ideas but which you could turn on others around you if they have the nerve to get in your way. With the weekend that follows, of the 15th through the 17th, it is possible that you will tune in more fully to the deeper changes that you are committing to at this time. The energy of Monday the 17th is particularly intense. The Full Moon that follows on Wednesday, January 19th, is a strong moment as well, but calmer and more balanced. You have been over the waterfall and have time to contemplate your new surrounding as you paddle around in the pool that you found at the bottom.
