Leo Horoscope (July 23 - August 22)

This is a wild and crazy time for you, Leo. It's all stop and go. Your progress is rapid in many ways but sometimes a case of two steps forward and one back. Your self-expression is vibrant through it all and you find that you have a lot to say, although in a serious and practical mode. Your concept of service to others and to the surrounding collective is altering, giving you fresh impetus to find your own unique design for living, while significant partners continue to play an important role. You are seeking and sometimes even finding the ideal form of interaction that provides for your own freedom of action without entirely sacrificing partnership connection.

As the month begins, you are perhaps even a bit started by the extent of your personal creativity, all burners going and the pots boiling away. Relationship is a mystical and a joyous exploration for you right now, and made more so by the developments you will encounter over the course of this month's journey. You are providing for others and for yourself some form of penetrating insight lately that allows you to more fully discern your true calling, and that is a joy in itself as well as a burden. When you find out what you could be doing in the world that natural question arises as to why you aren't doing it – in most cases at least – and then comes the sense of responsibility implicit in taking charge. However, as the adepts say, slowly, slowly! The Last Quarter Moon taking place on Tuesday, December 8th, comes as a reminder that struggle is an essential and even a natural part of life, and could be accompanied by surprising insights into the arc of your development. That train may already be leaving the station and leaving behind as well its relative safety, but oh, the novel vistas that will follow. You'll be plunging into new realities still further with the advent of the New Moon of the following week, taking place on Wednesday, December 16t. This represents the real kick-off into the unknown and untested waters of the deep psyche, waiting there for you as they have all along. You are simultaneously examining fresh territory in relationship concepts and healing ancient wounds in that area from the past. Everything can change in a moment when you discover new eyes to see with. Ideas for a calling appropriate to your vision are coming over you at this time and you would do well to heed them. The window for action is now rather than later in the month, when retrograding personal planets indicate that a time-out is called for, rather then a full-court press. After the 20th and especially after the 26th, it could be the right time to slow down and be contemplative, reflecting on conditions rather than trying to change them. On the 20th, Mars retrogrades in your identity sector and later on, on the 26th, Mercury retrogrades in your sector of everyday activity and discipleship to your higher purpose for yourself. The Winter Solstice takes place on Monday, December 21st, and this is a powerful time for you and for the planet, as you become aware in greater detail of the necessity that some key element of your structure must change. The Christmas Eve First Quarter Moon of the 24th indicates a time when the push for action is matched by an equal and balanced call for stillness from within, and when insight puts the brakes on too-precipitous forward motion. When Mercury retrogrades on the 26th, it initiates a period of five weeks or so, past the end of January, when it is better not to push the river. Then on New Years Eve comes the Lunar Eclipse and Full Moon that punctuates this end-of-the-year period with a sense of grace unfolding. Partnership is powerful for you right now, and grants you a sense of the mystical possibilities inherent in your own arc of development as you head into the unknown potentiality of this New Year.
