Leo Horoscope (July 23 - August 22)

Things aren't as bad as you were thinking, Leo. You are turning a deficit into a blessing. The mid-March New Moon might have knocked your socks off but your brain and heart are still intact and that's what counts. This month you are not only taking an emotional departure in stride but even coming to some new conclusions concerning where you stand on life and love and how to get to the next stage. That evolutionary step will be slow in coming but well worth the wait so stay tuned. It helps to keep a watchful eye on everything that happens to you and draw your conclusions in keeping with your highest intention.

As the month begins, you are feeling the undertow of the powerful New Moon from the middle of last month that lit up your sector of intimacy and personal transformation. You may well have felt like you were being shot out of a cannon into a new and different world. This moment of insight has provided inspiration for outer world events such as personal initiative and career moves, and also sparked a revolution in terms of inner work. The Last Quarter Moon of Tuesday, April 6th, marks the crux of an intense period of readjustment, following the storm. This is a time when tensions rise as things do not entirely work themselves out as planned and when you must take in all possible wisdom from the misses as well as the hits. You are gaining ground on deciding what it is that you must do, going forward, to get yourself out of existing ruts and dilemmas in a way that is uniquely yours and yours alone, and that operates in your life in spite of any and all opinions to the contrary from helpful others. The New Moon a week later, taking place on Wednesday, April 14th, gives you plenty of energy but not necessarily the direction to apply it in. You are focused at this time on trying to figure out what your security needs are, and on business ideas that may or may not prove fruitful. When Mercury retrogrades through your career sector a few days later, beginning on Saturday, April 17th, you might find yourself rethinking your priorities in this area. Of course the usual kinds of communication mishaps and mechanical breakdowns can be expected with Mercury retrograde, even more so for a Tenth House transit such as yours. This period lasts five weeks of more when you take into account the time of the retrograde shadow, after Mercury turns direct but is still making up its lost Zodiacal ground. The highlighted days for this period are the 17th, the 28th, and May 11th when it stations. On May 28th Mercury comes out of its shadow and returns to clear sailing. This is a great time to journal and to mull over your situation, but not such a good time for sudden departures from existing plans. The First Quarter Moon in your sign that punctuates this period, taking place on Wednesday, April 21st, represents a moment of tension in your process and a time of seeing the bigger picture of what you are about right now. Then The Full Moon of the final week of the month, taking place on Wednesday, April 28th, provides you with even more fodder for reflection as you mull over where it is exactly that you thought were going. It never pays to despair. This monthly cycle and the next one too have their aspects of tension and of forced adjustment to changing circumstances, but on the whole they lead you further into the very places that you need to go in order for important integration of your disparate parts to begin to take place.
