Leo Horoscope (July 23 - August 22)
Fixed Fire. Your ruling planet is The Sun.

Your perceptions are shifting, Leo, and your very way of life along with them. This is a powerful month within a powerful summer for you. The New Moon in your sign brings fresh energy to an already overfull table, replete with educational and travel opportunities, as well as a concrete urge to express these ideas in practical terms. You are holding back somewhat, which only creates additional tension and suspense, as you acknowledge a seeming restriction in being able to fully articulate or act on the shift in life direction that you feel stirring inside you. These are profound changes that you are in the midst of, and the full denouement might not reveal itself for a year or more.

As the month begins, you are enjoying the prodigality of the summer months, in this your birthday time of the year. You are feeling free and easy with the season and yet also somewhat conflicted as well. There is a troubling evolutionary necessity that is being thrust upon you now, as has been true for eighteen months or more, and it leads you to new visions for yourself and new horizons in your thought process. And you must heed the call. This is partly the call of the wild, and partly the call of the most civilized part of yourself, the part that recognizes the nature of the surrounding society and its cog-wheels, and equally recognizes that you are very much an integral piece of the machinery. You are being asked to do your bit, asked by the universe or perhaps by your higher self and deep down you know that you cannot refuse. Your freedom at this time lies in knowing the direction that your life must take, and choosing to go that way. When the New Moon comes along, in the second week of the month, on Monday, August 9th, it brings with it fresh energy and also serves to remind you of your fate. You are pushed and pulled in many directions at this time and the synthesis that you seek does not easily reveal itself. In one way, your focus is shifting to the myriad mundane details of daily life, to an effort to improve self, to serve self and others, and to remain alert to your mission in this regard. Concrete communication with others around you facilitates these goals that are very much of the here and now. At the same time you are lost in daydreams, with your intelligence bent toward travel, cultural exploration and expansion of your mental horizons. The fortunate thing is that you do not have to choose, but can blend these strands into an overarching tapestry of meaning which includes both divine and mundane components. With the First Quarter Moon of Monday, August 16th, your feet are held to the fires of change, for better or for worse. This is a time when you will start to see yourself as concretely embodying the transformation that you are in the midst of, and also perhaps feel the drawbacks implicit in your choices. The Full Moon of Tuesday, August 24th, seals the deal on recognizing what you are about, and allows you to reach a form of culmination with it. There are, however, always more ridges to climb that only appear after the triumph of the first assent. Your way is made easier by acknowledging that Spirit, or higher wisdom from planes of existence beyond the merely mundane, continues to play an important role. Without that recognition, this is an entirely confusing period for you, but with it, as the good book says, all things are possible.
