Leo Horoscope (July 23 - August 22)
Fixed Fire. Your ruling planet is The Sun.

You are in your element now, Leo. The time has come to shine, where you excel, and also though to mature and prosper slowly like aged wine, part of a natural continuation of what has gone before. As you size things up, the funk and flash are no longer enough; the breadth and the depth of your changes now is huge and eclipses these more superficial strains. You are in love with all your productions, and with the joys of potential as well as actual achievement. Although progress equals confusion at times, you eventually find amazingly clear ideals coming through and are being guided to meet vision with promise. You are committed to what matters not in the eyes of the world but, more important, for your own internal version of what counts as truth.

As the month begins, you are riding out the heavy surf from the eclipse of last month when you encountered a surge of energy for future trends that are oriented in a very different direction from the past. Ideas have been percolating slowly through your psyche for many weeks and now are reaching an important stage of fruition in this present monthly cycle. The floodgates of your awareness have been loosened, so that you have both the courage and the vision to make a significant departure from previous conceptions. You are still in many ways sizing up your possibilities rather than directly acting upon them, but there is a qualitative difference in how you approach the idea of a set of unchained potentials for yourself moving forward. You cannot completely eliminate the strictures of circumstance, and of society, but you can and are modifying your attitude toward them. This is a thoughtful period of steps forward and then back, as you proceed with optimism and yet with caution too, full steam ahead and yet continuing to review and refine your goals and the preparedness required to actually get you there. Caution has its uses, as is definitely mandated in this time frame, so that like it or not you must advance quite slowly now, as aware of the drawbacks as of the rewards implicit in your future vision. With the Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse of Monday, June 4th, which takes place in your creativity sector, in a stage of full-flowering of the impulse from the eclipse, you can feel an even stronger pull toward a future that you can live both with and for. The tension is heightened, together with the pressure for transformation in your life. You are perhaps more fully aware than ever before of old tapes of dysfunctional behaviors that still exist, stemming from earlier wounding; if so this has a distinct purpose, for by first acknowledging and then accepting yourself at these deeper and more problematic levels you make your move to go beyond them. The Last Quarter Moon of the following week, taking place on Monday, June 11th, also symbolizes an increase in the tension level, as you reach for evolutionary purpose by bouncing off others around you and by re-examining what has gone before with the goal of redirecting at least one important part of your focus toward meeting your own spiritual requirement. Those that you reach out to will come up with seemingly incompatible ideas that provide a contrast and foil to your own, and that initially feel like limitations to your own more expansive views, but which in the final analysis prove invaluable. With the New Moon that falls on Tuesday, June 19th, you will witness another strong burst of energy, and yet another perspective shift. You are uncovering still further layers of the onion as you wiggle your way still deeper into your own mind and heart, and regarding your customary philosophical stance, discover new bottles for old wine. A great deal of thought muscle will be expended by the end of the month as you continue to refine your conception, and as the tension builds for meaningful change in your life pat, a tension that becomes stronger and stronger until the little self can no longer resist it.
