Scorpio Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)
Fixed Water. Your ruling planets are Mars and Pluto.

You are only partly free to move forward, Scorpio. A fresh new breeze is blowing through your life right now, but before you can just let yourself go with it there is some old business still left on the table to be dealt with. Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water, the ghosts of relationship past seem to be intruding on your thought process. Although superficial and satisfying pleasures beckon, you can settle things up only by maneuvering to see more deeply inside yourself. There you'll find unexpected answers to questions you didn't even know to ask.

As the month begins, partnership with significant others in your life is on your mind. You are reconsidering many things at this time, from a deeply contemplative standpoint, not least of which are various patterns of behavior that have after all gotten you this far in life, but which might anyway find a new mode of expression so that your results could be improved upon. You have been reflecting on life direction in general over these past few weeks, and now the arrow of your attention turns to relationship dynamics. Some element of personality deep within your psyche is calling out for attention, perhaps a forgotten part of yourself that has been buried away below the level of your awareness for many years. The New Moon of Thursday, October 7th, brings fresh energy to your explorations. You are spelunking now for the gold of inner work, and seeking to transcend previous limitations. There is a wild-eyed abandon to your researches now, and simultaneously a grounded and cautious optimism, one that keeps your enthusiasm in check. You are still very much in touch with cosmic realities percolating up to your awareness through your subconscious. Your self-expression is creatively vibrant right now, with plenty of soul also. You could be turning to poetry or music or some other form of artistic outlet. It is also a great time for journaling. The very next day, on Saturday the 8th, artistic and value-oriented Venus stands still in the sky and turns retrograde in conjunction with your ruler, Mars, and you are more inclined to meditation than to direct action. The First Quarter Moon a week later, taking place on Thursday, October 14th, presents you with challenges to surmount and also the means to overcome them. You are taking a strong stand right now for what you really need, just for yourself, apart from other voices and points of view. The Full Moon of Friday evening, October 22nd, and the weekend that it ushers in, when the Sun enters your sign, represent another significant crossroads for you. This is a time when excitement beckons and confusion reigns, but when you also have an inner guidance system providing you with a healthy sense of limitations that might be able to pull you back from too much excess. This is a tricky and potentially deceptive period of time for you. It is hard to understand the events that continue to take place within your inner circle of family and friends, and impossible if you approach them with the simple-minded logic of consensus thinking. Something more is required, a cosmically mystical approach that accepts all, but leaves room for alternative explanations. Revelations continue over the last week of the month and they will carry you even further into a meditative trance that last for many weeks and that allows you to explore more fully the roots of your being and the true springs of your existence.
