It's a good time for true confessions this month, Scorpio, if you can overcome your characteristic reticence. You are bursting to communicate your darkest secrets to someone close to you. You are also sensitized in a most peculiar way to the spacious void within that underlies and overtakes what is laughingly called the "real world." This is the season of your unique presentation as well as of your hermit-like quest for solitude, and you benefit when you can make the most of it. The second half of January and on into February keeps you guessing, as Mercury retrogrades through your sector of home and family and gives you cause to rethink nearly everything.

As the month begins, you are full of juice for deep communication with others around you. This is a very interesting time for you right now, during this month and also during this year of 2009 that it ushers in. You are getting serious about planting seeds for the future, quietly prepared for huge gifts that are likely to come your way, and through it all thinking hard about reaching out to others from your spiritual center. With the First Quarter Moon of Sunday, January 4th, you are feeling a slight tension of contrary energy that might help you to tune in to what you truly want to get out of life by revealing what you do not. The Full Moon that comes along the following weekend, on Saturday, January 10th, also presents you with a study in contrasts. Adventure beckons, along with a strong impulse for staying the existing course, and it all leads you directly to personal growth and self-understanding when you look at it right. You are also working things out in terms of tribal and familial considerations at this time, seeking a firm basis of security in your home environment. This is a fortunate period of time for this activity. The Mercury retrograde period that lasts from the Full Moon time right through to the end of the month and beyond, when you count the period of the retrograde shadow, is a time of thinking and re-thinking your existing connection to this basis for security. You may find yourself journaling about this important aspect of your existence throughout this period. In mid-February there will likely be an important breakthrough, but until then it may be best to watch and wait, silently witnessing your responses to circumstances. The Solar Eclipse of the late evening of January 25th and 26th in your sector of home and family will provide important impetus for change and for bringing helpful partners more firmly into the picture.
