Taurus Horoscope (April 20 - May 20)
Fixed Earth. Your ruling planet is Venus.

This is an entertaining and paradoxical and perhaps confusing period that you are entering into, Taurus. Your birthday time of the year has arrived and with it a joyful and socially engaged attitude. In some ways you are fully meeting your world. And yet in another way you are not so much outer as inner, taking a mystical vacation from mundane concerns to travel to the hidden recesses of your mind and heart. It is an idealized and introspective space that you find yourself in these days, and you do well to acknowledge this simple and inescapable fact. The confusion comes from trying to live your life as though it were all on the surface. You benefit by honoring the paradoxical and deeper side of your life that makes the rest of it possible.

As the month begins, you are riding the wave of energy from the New Moon of the last weekend of April. The energy from that time carries over into May and gives you plenty of social pizzazz and also the inclination to explore your career options from a spiritual perspective. You are full of optimistic vibrations and more than ready to get started on new ideas with a positive outlook, but there is also a shadow of hesitation that is very much present for you as well. You could be asking yourself the question: Can you truly be all that you can visualize yourself as being? You benefit when, instead of ducking out, you choose to face your fears directly. In the days surrounding the First Quarter Moon of May 1st you could encounter a few bumps in the road of progress. You might find that you have to consciously choose the high road in any attempted resolution of career concerns and in your dealings with others. With Mercury so close to retrograde, this is also a time of reevaluation of your resources, and how you prioritize these resources in your life. Your finances could also be affected. The rule of thumb is to expect the unexpected and count on nothing � make no book on any particular outcome � right through to the middle of June. The Full Moon in your opposite sign that comes along on Friday, May 8th, lends focus on bonding with others around you, and as well signals philosophical departures from Fixed ideas that were formerly holding you back. New partnership connections will take on a spiritual glow right now since your ruler Venus currently resides in your sector of inner work and dream imagination. With respect to career and how you put yourself out there into the world around you, you are occupying an entirely idealized place. This provides much food for thought over the remaining weeks of this interesting monthly cycle. The Last Quarter Moon of the next weekend, taking place late on Saturday night, May 16th, stimulates these ideas and gives you enthusiasm for what you are all about these days as well as a certain degree of angst about achieving it. The days that follow, into the next week, constitute a thoughtful period. The New Moon a week later, on Sunday, May 24th makes for a fresh start in evaluating your sense of security and the resources that you have to work with in achieving your aims. You are making a stand for yourself at this time, and it is a spiritual stand.
