Taurus Horoscope (April 20 - May 20)
Fixed Earth. Your ruling planet is Venus.

The beat of massive change continues, Taurus, this month and into the New Year. You are still dealing with the personal issues that have come up for you over the past few weeks, colored by the ghosts of relationships past and present. It may seem like you are going round in circles but you are actually making progress, the more so the more you can stay as open as you can to all your possibilities. Through all the partial drama, and the potential misconceptions, your views regarding these matters are inevitably and forever changing. The remnants of your former worldview are something to celebrate in flux and not to enclose in stasis. It helps to remember – as the poet says – that life is constantly breathing, like a bellows; always emptying, always full.

As the month begins, you are feeling your way into a new form of connection with others around you, based on the intense contemplation of the preceding weeks, when your ruler Venus was retrograde in your partnership sector. This has been a time of meditation and also of coming to terms with a dawning mood of destiny within yourself, an intuition of your dharma – the work or the encouragement to others that you might have actually been placed upon this planet to perform. This inevitably involves some aspect also of deep process work, the connection to your own inner realities that you need to forge in order to create a more fully integrated approach to the world around you. The New Moon of Sunday, December 5th, brings an amazing burst of energy to your process of growing awareness and sense of inner purpose, as you actively seek a new future for yourself. You are feeling idealistic and desirous of positive change to take place in your life, and also perhaps a bit disillusioned that it takes so long to fully achieve it. There is a danger now of giving in to despair over the state of the world and of your place within it; greater sensitivity is available to you now and one result is a greater sense of the separation between the ideal and the merely real. If you didn't feel so deeply you would not be so inclined to suffer, and the temptation is there to insulate yourself in some way, perhaps to escape into the lives of others, perhaps through the many and varied forms of addiction that are available now in our dysculture, drugs, alcohol and TV just for starters. There is also the possibility of renouncing the world by means of some fashionable so-called spiritual path and therefore removing yourself from being harmed by the weight of it. But all these chimeras are false ideas that only in the end make it more difficult to do what you must do, to save the only life that you can save. The First Quarter Moon of Monday, December 13th, brings up these issues and more directly personal ones as well, as you strive to find a positive outcome and also mull over from a philosophical standpoint the distance that yet remains to be covered. Your sense of what the universe that surrounds you actually consists of is rapidly changing now, and it empowers you and enables you to recognize that you have a role to play in shaping this awareness for yourself and for your peers. This is a time when conflicts with others could conceivably arise and when the principles of non-violent communication could come in handy, namely using "I statements" and expressing your true needs in the moment. The Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse of December 21st, coincident with also the Winter Solstice, is a powerful time for you as well, and leads you by hook or by crook into a form of grace unfolding. Your future is opening up before you until it becomes a walk of life. And the walk, like others, has to be made one step at a time.
