Virgo Horoscope (August 23 - September 22)
Mutable Earth. Your ruling planet is Mercury.

This is an up and down time for you, Virgo. Although the celebratory nature of this period continues, as reflected by the Sun's yearly entrance into your sign, you will also be feeling a strong sense of responsibility as well, as the Sun tangles there with stern taskmaster Saturn. Throughout September you will be feeling the pinch of circumstance as well as the giddy joy of possibility which is also very present in your psyche. In the last week of the month, your ruler Mercury retrograding through your sector of values and resources allows you to perform a double-take at times on what you hold most dear. A big-picture viewpoint is forming on who you are and where you are heading, alongside and slightly below your conscious awareness.

As the month begins, you are full of energy, optimistically looking ahead and yet also taking your responsibilities very seriously; and also feeling the limitation inherent in your current situation. This month represents a powerful period of time when you will explore hitherto underdeveloped facets of your basic nature and come to a better sense of balance within yourself. This is the beginning of a longer phase since variations of these transformations will continue through to the end of the year. Saturn is traveling through your sign, and Saturn is the bringer of knowledge painfully wrought out of the substance of the earth, through effort of will and hard work, isolating at times but giving you a better and more firmly grounded sense of yourself in the final analysis. The nice thing about the current month is that Jupiter is there for you as well in your self-expression sector, lending confidence and good vibes. You cannot be totally merry at this time but you won't be hopeless either. With the advent of the First Quarter Moon on Sunday, September 7th, you may encounter some degree of tension in your process, a feeling that there are differences to be ironed out after all in what you are attempting. This is also a very optimistic time for you when you might be tempted to overdo, and to forget the lessons of Saturn so recently imparted. The days following are also high energy as far as your values and resources. You are in a self-reliant phase and nothing can really shake you during this time period. This might also be a time when you come to financial windfalls or other variation in the resources available to you. The Full Moon of Monday, September 15th brings others into the picture of what has been a solitary road for the most part. There may also be surprises in store for you. One hallmark of this point in time is information that startles and enlightens you and that comes to you through the agency of others. The Last Quarter Moon of Sunday the 21st is accompanied a few days later by the retrograde of your ruler Mercury, on the 24th, still in your resources sector. This station heralds a period of four to five weeks when you will profit more from mulling over your situation, rather than taking any form of direct action. With the impulse of this ongoing cycle there will be plenty of food for thought that will translate into a more integrated approach by the end of October.
