Virgo Horoscope (August 23 - September 22)
Mutable Earth. Your ruling planet is Mercury.

You're almost done with thinking things over, Virgo, and now getting ready to act. This month provides the capstone of many weeks of soul-searching into where you are going and why. At this time you are stepping out into the world in a new way, tentative at first but later with more confidence. The period of the retrograde of your ruler, Mercury, just passed, has been a time of philosophical inquiry into ultimate motivation. You are finding the spiritual connection right now to your work in the outer world as well as for the inner. It's a bold move that you are making with the advent of the Summer Solstice of June 20th, one that you've been preparing for in some sense, all your life.

As the month begins, you are riding the wave of the New Moon in your career sector from the end of last month, and feeling the shift of energy as your ruler Mercury switches into forward movement after three long weeks in retrograde. You are moving ahead full force right now with the affairs of the outer world, but the message from the secret center of your being is not to neglect the information that is also coming through to you from the other world of inner connection to the All That Is. It is easy of course to ignore the subtle call of inner knowing amidst the hustle and bustle of mundane events, but yet in some very important way, that is what it's really all about. You are transforming in your self-concept, and in how you see the world around you, in no small part as a result of researches into the deeper meaning of the situation that you find yourself in these days. Life is more difficult than it needs to be when you fail to remind yourself of the cosmic purpose underlying your struggle. The Full Moon of Sunday, June 7th, poses this question in starkly definite form, as it makes a challenging aspect to Saturn, lord of limitation, sitting in the middle of your identity sector. All year long you have been inquiring into the mystery of exactly who you are, an agent in the world of noise and color that so obviously surrounds you or something more, a ghost in the machine that sees everything from a perspective of infinite bliss. The answer of course is both, and you lose out when you suppress either pole of the fascinating dichotomy that we might as well call the Human Condition. This is a time of finding the joy of service to something larger than self, which you are good at, and also of transcending the patterns of sacrifice and reluctant assistance that have been unconscious motivators of behavior, which is not so simple. You are very idealistic at this time and seeking to achieve the miracle as you go forward of keeping your heart and mind in synch with what is becoming your life's work. By the time of the Last Quarter Moon, taking place on Monday, June 15th, there will be surprises, perhaps in the form of partnership intervention that helps to lay the groundwork for new dimensions of your experience to become available. You are gathering your energy at this time, seeing what does and doesn't work in the varied mix of your endeavors as you head into the rebirth of the Summer Solstice and New Moon. This Cancer New Moon takes place a week later, on Monday, June 22nd, and represents a fresh start with plans and social involvement, and also with traversing the deep unknown parts of yourself. Not everything that glitters is the real gold.
