Virgo Horoscope (August 23 - September 22)
Mutable Earth. Your ruling planet is Mercury.

This is an exciting and perhaps contradictory period for you, Virgo. New beginnings come around to the same old thing unless nurtured, and relationships only take you as far as you are able to figure out the directions for yourself. In the present month there are spirited initiatives to be followed up to the extent that you can find yourself willing to embrace them. You must prioritize; fortunately the last half of April is great for that, with your ruler Mercury retrograde in your sector of higher mind. You benefit when you take everything that happens as it comes and continue to believe that the implicit lessons will reveal themselves to you, in time.

As the month begins, you are still reeling from the effect of the powerful New Moon from the middle of last month in your relationship sector. This has therefore been a time perhaps of rapid-fire adjustments in order to keep your feet under you as you navigate the changing tides of partners and your own nascent personality upheavals. The Last Quarter Moon of Tuesday, April 6th, finds you in the mode of reinventing yourself yet again, as you sort through the previous three weeks and try to make sense of the changes that have gotten you this you're your perspectives shift and with them the basics of who you think you are becoming. This also affects how you feel you are connected to significant others in your life. You are sure that you are going for it, you just aren't sure where it is or how to reach it, but like the hub of a wheel or an open doorway you might have to be content for the moment to define yourself by what is not. The New Moon of the following week, coming along on Wednesday, April 14th, provides you with further energy for your on-going transformation. Partnerships in your life are especially important now, and feed your own quest for self-knowledge. These last two weeks of the month are also the beginning of a Mercury retrograde period of time, when you will likely be spending more energy mulling over your opportunities than actually acting on them. Mercury retrogrades on April 17th for about five weeks when you take the period of the retrograde shadow into account. Mercury stations on May 11th, turning to direct motion, but it will not regain its lost Zodiacal ground until May 28th. Meanwhile it's a great time for journaling and for reviewing where you are and how this cycle affects the arc of your life's development. Following through on existing plans is a better idea than forging new ones, although research into new possibilities is specifically recommended. Mercury is retrograding through your sector of higher mind, and you could be thinking about going back to school in some fashion, or further mental preparation for what engages you currently. Travel plans might alter over the course of this five-week period, and are likely to change again after the end of May. You are in the midst of a major shift, and the full force of what is going on inside you might not flower until the middle of June. Meanwhile it pays to be alert, to observe carefully and to take everything that happens as it comes. The First Quarter Moon of Wednesday, April 21st, brings a moment of tension to your inner work and emphasizes a spiritual element, as old patterns of relationship interaction surface for the purpose of recognizing them and moving past them. You are in the process of becoming more aware of how this part of yourself can be accepted by you rather than shamed. The Full Moon of Wednesday, April 28th is another important turning point within this reflective and even introspective timeframe, and is a time when you might begin to accept in a new way the point of view of others and the information that flows from them, incorporating these more gracefully into your own perspective.
