Virgo Horoscope (August 23 - September 22)
Mutable Earth. Your ruling planet is Mercury.

This is an excellent pause period, Virgo, with your ruler Mercury retrograding through your sign. Your on-going metamorphosis has entered a new phase with the cooler weather. Change continues but not so rapidly. Like a loaded spring you have plenty of energy for forging ahead if you only knew where to direct it. Janus-like, you are inching forward and yet you are also looking backward, reviewing everything that you have done and planned to do. Your finances too are settling down and pinching back, leading up to a conservative end of the year. As you consolidate, you are simultaneously opening up a new way for moving ahead.

As the month begins, you are reveling in your new-found feelings of self-sufficiency, which you are also a little scared of as well. It is been an interesting summer for you, a time when you have been more aware than before of your major ongoing transformation in self-image and in your resultant creativity. There are also implications for how you feel about the place you stand in order to be able to make your own way forward, independent of the voices of others. Since your ruler Mercury is currently in retrograde motion through your sign, it is a time right now of reflection on where you have been and more importantly where you are going in your present-day situation. One important time and moment of even more poignant reflection is the conjunction of the Sun with Mercury on Friday, September 3rd. Then the New Moon in your sign of Wednesday, September 8th, represents another important moment of time, when fresh energy is available for your process of ever-increasing understanding. You are on the road at this time to a more profound balance, a deeper integration of all your parts. What holds you back is what holds you together right now, a super-reliance on physical process as a grounding for everything else that is to come. You just have to beware falling into the common trap of imagining that this is all that there is. It is in fact not even in the majority. With the station of Mercury on Sunday, September 12th, you might feel a shift in the energy. You are even more aware of this sense of physical grounding and also perhaps sensing the drawbacks as well as the advantages. This is a powerful time for you, a sort of a time out when you can step off the moving planet, at least in your own mind, and peacefully survey the scene that you are normally in the midst of. A couple of days later, the First Quarter Moon of Tuesday, September 14th, represents another important crossroads when you might feel the inherent conflicts in what you are attempting as well as the progress implied.
