Virgo Horoscope (August 23 - September 22)
Mutable Earth. Your ruling planet is Mercury.

This is the first month of the rest of your life, Virgo. Following the intense retrograde of Mercury in your sign last month, you are attempting to collect yourself once again by a process of concentrated effort.
A dreamy idea of where you might be headed is slowly being replaced by more concrete notions although fundamental idealism remains, along with your suspicions regarding it. Surprises persist for you in the relationship arena, as you bring the accumulated wisdom of the past few weeks to bear in reconstituting your approach. Brilliant ideas continue to arise, partly coming to you through the agency of others. You do well to pay close attention to all your communications, sifting them for the gold that applies directly to your own burgeoning understanding.

As the month begins, you are full of ideas for both personal and partnership initiatives. Having taking some time to more closely look into exactly who you are, you are ready to make some necessary course adjustments as you leap forward with new thinking. You could find yourself in possession of a better handle on what your values in the end dictate in terms of planting your seeds for the future to best advantage. You are making a better place for yourself to stand in the world at large, one that fulfills your serious purpose and your sense of play simultaneously, and that gives you a feeling of security that is based on your own unique sensibilities rather than on consensus thinking that does not match you at the deeper levels of your being. The New Moon of Thursday, October 7th, brings fresh energy for your dreams and schemes. You are in a serious-minded and productive phase right now, one that enables you to more fully participate in establishing a more appropriate life direction for yourself, a path with heart. There is a practical side to your approach at this time that could be expressed as negativity. On the other hand, there is also a strong sense of idealism and belief in possibility. You are almost too idealistic in this phase, and so you might want to beware of illusion bordering on self-deception in biting off more than you can comfortably digest. You might feel a sense of separation from humanity at large right now as well, which can be painful. It helps to realize that you are centered on your own unique pathway at this time for a reason, and that it is important that you take mystical realities into account as well as practical ones. If you demonstrate faith in the ability of the cosmos to work things out in your favor the cosmos will not fail you. The First Quarter Moon of Thursday, October 14th, could place a few obstacles in your road, the better to test your faith. On some level you are seeing right now just what you can accomplish all on your own, how far you can go; the actual distance might turn out to be considerable. You are looking more closely into the basis for your sense of security in terms of values that you can fully subscribe to, those that are in total alignment with your inner as well as your outer nature. By the time of the Full Moon of Friday evening, October 22nd, you reach a tipping point where going forward is more attractive than staying stuck in previous conceptions. It's a brave new world that you are entering over the coming weeks, and also one of your own devising.
