STATIONING PLANETS

A planet is said to be stationing retrograde when it is about to begin its backward movement, and stationing direct when it is about to move forward again. At either station, the planet appears to pause in the sky. This stillness concentrates its influence, often amplifying the intensity of the planet’s symbolic meaning.

Outer planet stations—particularly those of Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto—can be especially potent and long-lasting. A planet near a station holds its position longer than usual, remaining in orb with key aspects and deepening its impact on personal and collective experience.
