Gemini Horoscope for December 2017

Posted on November 29, 2017 by Henry Seltzer of ASTROGRAPH.COM

You have before you a new month, Gemini, and yet in some ways you are repeating patterns that you have gone through before, and taking a new angle of approach on these. Your ruler, Mercury, is in retrograde motion nearly all month long, in your sector of partnership, and you might find yourself dreaming on and somewhat revising for yourself the meaning of relationship and intimacy in your life. The strong placement of the planet Pluto signals that something major is shifting for you in these and other areas. Being available to others plays a big role for you now, to include service to your own higher purpose, affecting as well all kinds of interpersonal connection. Neptune too is prominent this month, and located in your sector of career. You may find, through a series of events, trials, and meditations, that only the path with heart, that deeply satisfies, is the one way for you to go.

The following was written by this month's guest columnist Adam Elenbaas of The Nightlight Astrology School:

Happy halfway done with your solar return, to all you Gemini’s out there! It’s always at this time of year that the Full Moon falls in your home sign. This year it happens just a few days into December. In addition to this, Mars in Libra and Uranus in Aries are just separating from an opposition across your fifth and eleventh houses, Jupiter in Scorpio in your sixth house is making a trine to Neptune in Pisces in your tenth house, and Mercury is conjoining with Saturn in Sagittarius, just as it turns retrograde in your seventh house. All of this is taking place in the first week of the month (although the effects will carry on all of December). Let’s take a look at each transit, in depth.

The Full Moon in Gemini will take place in your first house, within the first few days of the month, just as Mercury is conjoining with Saturn and turning retrograde in your seventh house. The first house is traditionally related to your health, psychology, spirit, and vital energy, while the seventh house is traditionally the house of marriage and relationships. Here’s what to watch for:

  • A crossroads between your own psychic, personal development and the needs of another
  • A new romantic relationship
  • Balancing your own ideas and opinions, or lack thereof, with those of another
  • The return of someone from your past
  • A new partnership, a deepening commitment
  • A deep disagreement over values or beliefs, the challenge of finding common ground
  • A spouse or partner is having a change of heart or change of mind
  • A spouse or partner is going through a profound philosophical or spiritual transformation
  • Your relationship is facing an existential or philosophical crisis
  • Your relationship is restoring or renewing its faith
  • You are trying to balance the need for freedom of thought along with committed ideals or values
  • You are feeling fickle or changeable about friendships, relationships, or business partnerships
  • Your partner or spouse is considering a proposal, agreement, contract, or negotiation of some kind, possibly effecting their job and/or income
  • You are considering moving in with a partner; you may have your doubts
  • Financial status in relationships, your income vs. your partner’s is a concern
  • You are becoming wildly attracted to someone or something, losing yourself, or becoming deeply immersed in something, it’s possible that you’re not being rational enough

Next, Mars in Libra in your fifth house is opposing Uranus in Aries in your eleventh house. The fifth house is the house of recreation, pleasure, creativity, children, and pregnancy, while the eleventh house is the house of friends, wishes and hopes for the future, allies, and benefactors. Here’s what to watch for:

  • Creative conflicts or challenges
  • Children, challenges with children, troubled children
  • The tension between your children and your personal dreams
  • Advocating for children, children’s rights
  • Marching to the beat of your own drum vs. making sure to make friends with the right people
  • Creative individuation vs. creative compromise
  • Troubles or fights with friends or allies
  • Groups of people and their causes
  • Sports and competition
  • Boundary or record-breaking accomplishments
  • Creative “aha” moments and breakthroughs
  • Hubris and willfulness that sabotage important political allegiances
  • Thought provoking creative performances

Finally, Jupiter in Scorpio in your sixth house is trine to Neptune in Pisces in your tenth house. The sixth house is traditionally the house of illness and misfortune, underdogs and social injustice, but it is also related to those who are dedicated to serving and healing others. Meanwhile, the tenth house is the house of career, reputation, calling, achievement, and authority. Here’s what to watch for:

  • The relationship between employees or servants/laborers and higher ups intensified
  • The rulers or authorities gifting, helping, or lowering themselves among the people or the workers or servants or those “less fortunate”
  • The fall or sickness or misfortune of an authority figure
  • Public disgrace or scandal
  • The delusion or grandiose vision that drags a person down
  • The stroke of good luck or fortune that pulls a person up
  • Faith, compassion, wisdom, and charity at work in the world
  • Service and wisdom, healing insight and a global or collective vision
  • Mysticism and fate
  • The evangelical spirit, spreading the word, getting the news out, encouraging others publicly
  • Trust in destiny, even in dark or challenging times
  • A new vision of health or a health and healing transformation
