Leo Horoscope for December 2017

Posted on November 29, 2017 by Henry Seltzer of ASTROGRAPH.COM

This is a month of soul searching, Leo, resulting in changes in the way you see yourself and your interactions with others. This is a particularly strong time of spiritual transformation. Home and family is a major focus for the first half of December, along with introspection, questioning, and refining your sense of identity. You could be engaged in rethinking your self-expression, your relationship with your children, and future plans. The last two weeks of the month will make for a decided focus on remaking yourself and your creative output, and handling self-imposed limitations. As you do, you will be folding in an element of unconscious process and deep intimacy with important others in your life, and with your own inner world. This is a powerful time, imbued with a profound sense of purpose, and you benefit by staying as open as you can to the changes being wrought upon you by the universe, and by your own Higher Self.

The following was written by this month's guest columnist Adam Elenbaas of The Nightlight Astrology School:

The beginning of this month will set the tone for all of your December. It starts just as Mars in Libra in your third house is completing its opposition to Uranus in your ninth house. At the same time, Jupiter in Scorpio in your fourth house will be moving into a trine with Neptune in Pisces in your eighth house, and Mercury and Saturn will be conjoining in Sagittarius in your fifth house, just as Mercury turns retrograde and just as the Full Moon comes through on December 3rd. Let’s look at each planetary transit in depth, remembering that you’re only a few months removed from a major solar eclipse in your home sign of Leo and so big changes are still very much in the air for you!
Mars in Libra in your third house is opposite to Uranus in Aries in your ninth house. The third house is traditionally related to siblings, neighbors, short journeys, memory, messengers, writers, communication, media, etc., and the ninth house is related to religion, spirituality, the law, higher education, long journeys, and philosophy or beliefs. Here’s what to watch for:

  • Fighting, feuding, challenging, or competing ideas, ideals, values, philosophies or beliefs
  • Challenging a well-established doctrine
  • Inventing a new method or technology
  • A crisis, challenge, or unexpected thrill while traveling
  • The call to spread an important message
  • Fighting with siblings or cousins, or challenging each other’s beliefs
  • Defining your own beliefs
  • Defending ideas and values from attack
  • Athletics, competition, bravery, courage, sports, and the code of the warrior

Jupiter in Scorpio in your fourth house is trine to Neptune in Pisces in your eighth house. The fourth house is the house of home, family, roots, ancestry, land, property, things from the past, and the underworld. The eighth house is the house of other people’s money and resources, death, anxiety, fear, worry about the future, penalties or loss (often from overdoing something), and taboo. Here’s what to watch for:

  • Growth of home and family
  • Renovating, improving, or building onto a property
  • Land development
  • Death and inheritance in the family
  • Debt and expenses related to home and family
  • Facing ancestral demons or shadows or unconscious material
  • Growing a stronger foundation
  • Growth in a partner’s income or resources or expenses related to a partner
  • Loans and lending to others, possibly in the family
  • Moving or relocating or selling/buying property

· Resolving an old conflict or getting to the root of a problem
Finally, Mercury and Saturn are conjoining in Sagittarius in your fifth house, just as Mercury is turning retrograde and just as the Full Moon comes through in Gemini, in the opposite eleventh house. The fifth house is the house of creativity, children, sports, pregnancy, joy, and recreation, while the eleventh house is the house of friends, wishes and hopes for the future, allies, and benefactors. Here’s what to watch for:

  • A communication challenge with your children
  • A change of strategy with parenting
  • Your children developing their own thoughts or beliefs
  • Conflict or challenges related to children
  • News related to pregnancy
  • A revision of belief or philosophy around having children
  • Deciding to have kids, deciding not to have kids
  • Change of creative vision or direction
  • Technology related to creativity
  • Having fun and blurring the line between healthy and unhealthy fun
  • Holding back from something you shouldn’t be doing
  • Communication and its relationship to joy, pleasure, and creativity
  • Doing your own thing, marching to the beat of your own creative drum, regardless of what others think
  • A passionate artistic idea
  • Creative headaches
  • Unique opportunities for creative collaboration
  • New dreams and visions and the compromises they might require
  • Developing a new idea and finding the right allies to help your cause, being careful not to be too rigid about your ideas
