Sagittarius Horoscope for December 2017

Posted on November 29, 2017 by Henry Seltzer of ASTROGRAPH.COM

are at the start of another exciting month of growth and change, Sagittarius. You have recently been engaged in questioning certain aspects of your very identity, intensifying in early December when Mercury stations retrograde, and also feeling a sense of added responsibility to get it right this time. All these factors come to a head over the first half of December, when also your own inner world is calling you. This month is a great time to pay attention to your dreams, as telling you true about what is actually going on deep inside. Over the final two weeks of the month, including the Christmas holiday, while well aware of interior matters you yet find yourself much more available for social interaction and new creative endeavors. A new you is emerging over this latter period that is informed by depth researches that have gone before, so that by January you find yourself irrevocably changed.

The following was written by this month's guest columnist Adam Elenbaas of The Nightlight Astrology School:

Happy Birthday Season! And happy belated birthday to those with Sagittarius birthdays at the end of November. It’s going to be a powerful month for you, as well as a powerful year ahead (your solar return chart for your next year will be imprinted by this month’s planetary transits, as well!). This month Venus enters your first house, in Sagittarius, on the first of the month, just as Mercury and Saturn are conjoining while Mercury turns retrograde in Sagittarius. Meanwhile, Mars in Libra in your eleventh house is just separating from an opposition to Uranus in Aries in your fifth house, and Jupiter in Scorpio in your twelfth house is making a trine to Neptune in Pisces in your fourth house. Each of these transits are happening during the first week of the month, setting the tone for the entire month. Let’s look at each transit in depth.

Venus moves into Sagittarius and your first house to start the month, just as Mercury is stationing and turning retrograde in a conjunction with Saturn in Sagittarius in your first house. The first house is the house of the self, health, new beginnings, and character. Here’s what to watch for:

  • A serious revision of personal philosophy
  • A new look, a new style
  • A new lifestyle decision
  • Dieting, fasting, or limiting yourself in some way
  • Beginning, revising, editing a project
  • Transforming your personal communication style
  • Your beliefs, ideals, values, and philosophical or religious commitments, how they are defined, how they change, how they are communicated to others, how they are implemented in your everyday life
  • Revisiting an old health problem or dealing with a nagging health concern
  • A personal health possibly related to the mind, brain, or technology
  • The themes of commitment, seriousness, sobriety, maturity, and wisdom
  • You are being offered the opportunity to teach others
  • You are becoming an elder, a mentor, a guide or a sage for others
  • Even though you have big dreams and visions you are experiencing a reality check
  • Measured, careful thinking about future goals and wishes
  • A joyful, social mood intermingling with the seriousness of the themes above
  • Feeling attractive and attracting others
  • Charm, wit, and how these qualities match with a more serious or sober message
  • A time of emphasizing your health and wellness, or what you need to feel happy in the world
  • The balance between adornment, decoration, and external beauty and the inner substance or intelligence of something

Meanwhile, Mars in Libra in your eleventh house is just separating from an opposition to Uranus in Aries in your fifth house. The eleventh house is the house of dreams, wishes, allies, benefactors, and friends, whereas the fifth house is the house of pregnancy, children, recreation, joy, and creativity. Here’s what to watch for:

  • Creative conflicts and creative conflict resolution
  • Collaboration for a cause
  • Balancing diplomatic behavior with creative dynamism
  • Children and friends, bullies and allies
  • Resolving differences for the sake of a larger project, cause, or vision
  • Dreams changing due to having children or changes in the lives of children
  • The right friends vs the wrong friends
  • People who want to help your cause or project
  • People whose help comes at a price
  • Goals and dreams changing unexpectedly
  • Rebellion, creativity, and cultural revolution

Finally, Jupiter in Scorpio in your twelfth house is making a trine to Neptune in Pisces in your fourth house. The twelfth house is traditionally the house of loss, illusion, self-undoing, and the dark night of the soul. The fourth house is the house of home, family, roots, ancestry, land, property, things from the past, and the underworld. Here’s what to watch for:

  • Shadows from your past
  • Ancestral ghosts or karma
  • Loneliness or loss, possibly related to home or family
  • Grief in the home
  • Nature, preserves, solitude
  • Experiencing a spiritual rebirth
  • Renewing or reaffirming your faith due to some difficult challenge
  • Becoming aware of things that are invisible
  • The power of dreams and signs
  • A loss is actually a gain
  • Generational change or healing
  • Haunted by something beautiful and inspiring
  • Secrets and the past
  • Secret wishes and the pain of longing for something you can’t have
  • A journey home, redefining home
