Virgo Horoscope for September 2018

This month is an exciting one as you emerge from the tunnel of summertime introspection, and as your birthday time come around once again. The retrogrades o Mars and your ruler, Mercury, have driven you to the inside in your quest for your true nature, both on your own and within the mystical and magical place of intimate connection with others. These twin aims of understanding the mystery of yourself and also that of yourself with important others is your major September preoccupation. Because stodgy and restrictive Saturn is highlighted in your creativity sector, it might seem as though you are slogging through mud to get even the small things accomplished. The reward there lies in assiduously absorbing the lessons of this time, in spite of setbacks, applying the theory that everything thrown at you by the universe has a purpose, and furthers your spiritual evolution.

The following was written by this month's guest columnist Adam Elenbaas of The Nightlight Astrology School

September gets started just as Mercury in Leo in your twelfth house makes a sextile to Venus in your second house, culminating on September 3rd. The themes of suffering and deep inner work and healing, which are associated with the twelfth house, are coupled with the second house themes of money, resources, and values. You are poised to receive important insights around money and finances. However, you should also be careful about overspending or overextending yourself, energetically. On the other hand, this might be the perfect moment to offer some comfort, wisdom, healing words or even financial resources to others who are suffering, or you may find that you are able to more easily express or communicate something of your inner thoughts or needs. Just remember to keep good boundAries in your relationships and to make sure that you are being honest with yourself and those around you.

On September 8th, Venus in Libra in your second house of finances, values, and resources will square Mars in your fifth house of children, creativity, and pleasure. This transit can symbolize a high level of creative and sexual tension in your relationships, but it may also emphasize expenditures related to children or possibly the desire to invest yourself more deeply in a personal hobby or creative endeavor.

The New Moon on September 9th falls in your home sign of Virgo this month, alongside Mercury, your ruling planet, and opposite to Neptune in your seventh house of relationships. It’s a time of personal empowerment, so be sure to use the energy of the moment mindfully. It is also a great time for making changes to your personal health or hygiene, for starting a new diet or health regiment, or for launching a new work-related project. Doubling as your career house ruler, Mercury in Virgo also indicates that you can be very productive in the workplace right now. The main challenge of this New Moon, for as empowering as it is likely to be, comes from Neptune’s opposition. You are likely to be a little ungrounded with your mind up in the clouds. Maintaining healthy boundAries in relationships is recommended, but at the same time you shouldn’t avoid, just because you are simply afraid to lose control, the call to greater intimacy with others.

Then, on September 12th, Venus in Scorpio in your third house of communication, learning, and the mind will oppose Uranus in Taurus in your ninth house of religion, spirituality, higher education and long journeys. You may be challenged to revise or rethink your personal beliefs right now, or you might be learning about something exotic or outside the box, spiritually, politically, or philosophically. Venus in combination with Uranus also loves to defy traditional relational, sexual, and artistic values, so that you might notice an eccentric energy surrounding the way you communicate or express yourself, or within your close relationships.

On September 18th, Mars in Aquarius in your sixth house of work, sickness, and service will square Uranus in your ninth house of higher education, religion, spirituality, and long journeys. With Mars having recently been retrograde in your sixth house for most of the summer, you have been through a long period of trials, challenges, review, or revision in relation to daily work and personal health. Or maybe you’ve been taking a hard look at who or what you are in service to each day. Either way, you are poised for a breakthrough right now as Mars in direct motion squares Uranus and opens a porthole for innovation, liberation, and sudden or unexpected changes. Interestingly, this transit may also feature or zoom in on the topics of education, spirituality, or even travel.

Between September 22nd and 23rd, the Sun will pass through the gateway of the Fall Equinox, moving into the sign of Libra and your second house. For the next thirty days, the topics of time, money, energy, resources, and personal values will be highlighted. You are being asked to reflect upon these areas as the Sun enters the underworld portion of the year. The benefits of this transit include the possibility of finding greater balance and harmony regarding what you have and hold, what you desire, and how you prioritize the use of your resources.

Finally, on September 24th, the Full Moon in Aries will land in your eighth house, bringing up themes of death and rebirth, as well as the topic of other people’s money. Given that this Full Moon closely opposes your ruling planet, Mercury, in the second house of finances, while also creating a T-square with Saturn in Capricorn in the fifth house of creativity, you will be looking closely at the topics of fairness and balance in your relationships, especially surrounding the creative use of time, money, and energy. You may also be reflecting on your personal or creative and artistic values and how they oppose or differ from others in your life. With Venus about to turn retrograde in your third house of communication next month, it’s important that you be forward and honest, as well as compassionate, with those you are close to right now because you are on the precipice of some significant changes in your relationships, and they will likely involve continued conversations about differing values, communication styles, and personal beliefs.
