Capricorn Horoscope for March 2019

This is a climactic month for you, Capricorn, involving the necessary evolution of your own self-concept. For many weeks and months, you have been contemplating who you are and where you are truly heading. This process gets a huge push this month, particularly in the timing of the March 6th Pisces New Moon. Even as you forge ahead, however, Mercury enters its retrograde period in this same timing, indicating an introspective attitude. As you continue to learn and grow, perhaps questioning your own identity in a major way, you are incorporating newfound conceptions of everything that is going on within you, below the surface layers. Your fundamental beliefs and perspective is also shifting, as you attempt to better understand the workings of the world, and your place within it. Coming to terms with early wounding plays a significant role in getting to know yourself at deep levels. As you make your way through the situation of the society that surrounds you and gives you being, you also are beginning to act on this awareness.

The following was written by this month's guest columnist Adam Elenbaas of The Nightlight Astrology School

March begins with the planet Venus in your home sign and first house of Capricorn making a square to unpredictable and eccentric Uranus in Aries in your fourth house of home and family, pointing toward an exciting, but also possibly disruptive, paradigm shift at home or within your family to start the month.
On March 6th, the New Moon in Pisces will conjoin with Neptune in Pisces in your third house of communication and the mind, just as Mercury is also turning retrograde. The lunar cycle ahead is thus saturated by the watery mental shiftings, distortions, and otherworldliness of Mercury and Neptune. The challenge for you is to balance the numinous and inspired elements of these transits with the need for grounded, rational thinking.
Also on March 6th, the planet Uranus will move into Taurus and enter your fifth house of children, creativity, and joy. Although Uranus brings erratic and unstable energy wherever it goes, the fifth house was traditionally called the house of “good fortune,” and was generally related to pleasure, joy, creativity, and good luck. Trust that whatever unexpected events happen in the months and years to come (Uranus will be in your fifth house into 2026) the paradigm shift you experience will likely bring greater joy and creative freedom along with it.
Between March 14th and the 20th, Mars in Taurus in your fifth house will make trines to both your ruling planet Saturn and Pluto in your home sign of Capricorn. This is an industrious transit that will make you work hard in order to create a much-needed personal shift. It might seem odd that you should have to work so hard right now for the sake of greater personal freedom and happiness but stick with the task at hand because these transits may help you to seriously upgrade your entire personal operating system.

On March 20th, the Sun will cross through the gateway of the Spring Equinox and move into Aries in your fourth house of home and family, where it will immediately conjoin Chiron, the wounded healer. At the same time, the Full Moon in Libra will pass through your tenth house of career. Given that the rulers of the Equinox and Full Moon, which are Mars and Venus, are also passing through a square right now between your second and fifth houses, representing money and creativity, it’s likely that you are trying to find the right balance, and the right distribution of your resources, in relation to both home and work, or both your inner life and your outer commitments.

Finally, between March 24th and April 2nd, Mercury will conjoin Neptune in Pisces in your third house of communication and the mind, Venus will enter Pisces, and then Mercury will finally turn direct, conjuncting Neptune one last time as it finally gets past the middle of Pisces. This sequence brings another wave of exotic, emotional, and imaginative energy into your everyday activities. Again, while the potential for an almost visionary state of mind is possible right now, be on guard against whimsical thinking, delusions, and fuzzy logic.
