Virgo Horoscope for April 2019

This is another interesting month for you, Virgo, highlighting areas of self-identity, transformation, partnership, and intimacy. Last month’s themes continue, yet with a useful movement toward resolution in the current month. The recent intense Mercury Retrograde period, still resolving itself, has been a fascinating time, especially with regard to significant persons in your life. Mercury, your chart ruler, has been moving backward through your relationship sector, and conspiring there with idealistic Neptune, indicating a noticeable tendency to put partners, or prospective partners, on a pedestal. This month, you continue to deal with the fallout from this overly innocent activity, although you will want to be cautious about making a determination of self-deception, or even of illusion or confusion caused by deceptive practices on the part of others with whom you are involved. In any case, it is time to stop the blame game. By looking at things constructively, you will find that in all this process you have developed immeasurably; soul growth is after all your most important product.

The following was written by this month's guest columnist Adam Elenbaas of The Nightlight Astrology School

The month ahead features a lineup of planets moving through conjunctions to Neptune in the sign of Pisces in your seventh house of relationships, followed by squares to Jupiter in Sagittarius in your fourth house of home, family, and foundations. Starting on April 2nd, Mercury in Pisces will conjoin Neptune and then square Jupiter in Sagittarius by April 12th. Then, Venus in Pisces will conjoin Neptune on April 10th and square Jupiter in Sagittarius by April 15th. Both sequences point to the importance of your relationships and the domestic sphere of life. The need to merge or join with something other than – or bigger than – yourself will be quite strong in the weeks ahead. Given that Pisces and Sagittarius are both ruled by Jupiter, you are likely to be filled with faith, hope and optimism right now. Venus and Neptune bring a romantic and dreamy aura, so you are likely to be riding a wave of good energy in your relationships with others and at home. You may also be asking yourself who or what truly adds to or supports your existence, your deepest happiness, and your need for emotional or domestic security. It’s a good time to appreciate those who do. However, while the need to find these deeper sources of support will be very strong, with your ruling planet, Mercury, debilitated in Pisces and also under the influence of Neptune and Jupiter, it is important to be patient and discerning because you could easily get swept up in the grandiosity, fantasies, and romanticism of the moment and choose to buy into something that may not be as substantive or supportive as it appears.

On April 5th, the New Moon in Aries will fall in your eighth house of death, rebirth, and inevitability, and then the Sun will move into squares to Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn in your fifth house of good fortune and creativity between April 10th and the 13th. The New Moon in your eight house initiates a moment of intense transformation, which may ask you to face your fears or anxieties or to move through some inevitable changes in the month ahead. At the same time, the Sun’s eventual squares to Saturn and Pluto suggest that if you can stick to your principles and think through your obstacles creatively, you may find that by the end of this Moon cycle you are in a much better position than wherever you started. Just be sure to retain a balanced and even-minded perspective because by the time of the Full Moon in Libra on April 19th, you’ll be looking for compromises and peaceful resolutions to whatever trials you might be facing. The good news is that with the Full Moon also landing in your second house of money, resources, and values, there is a potential to turn this month’s eighth house challenges into substantive gains, so long as you do not burn your bridges along the way.

Between April 19th and the 23rd, also, both Mercury and Venus will move into conjunctions with Chiron in Aries in your eighth house, similarly signaling the need for deeper healing and honest, forthright conversations in your relationships, perhaps particularly around money, finances, or shared responsibilities and expectations.

On April 20th, the Sun will also enter Taurus and move into your ninth house of the higher mind, there conjoining Uranus until the 23rd, the innovator and rebel, and bringing with it a series of illuminating, if not somewhat disruptive or shocking, insights or learning opportunities. You may discover a new teacher, plan a trip or travel somewhere for the sake of expanding your mind, or dare to question higher authority, tradition, or long held beliefs.

Finally, between April 25th and 27th, Mars in Gemini in your tenth house of career will square Neptune in Pisces in your seventh house of relationships, bringing with it the desire to merge with others for the sake of a similar dream, vision, or cause. Mars and Neptune may also tempt you to fight or sacrifice on behalf of others, which may be noble but may also drain you of valuable resources, especially your mental and physical energy.
