This is another quite significant month for you, Libra, when you are looking to the future as the transformational beat continues. With your ruler, Venus, located in your career sector, you are very focused on success in outer world activity, and yet there are implications also for deep soul-level commitment to your own inner principles in order to fully achieve it. Partners contribute to this as well, and there is the potential for painful progress there as you try for better understanding of important others in your life at the most profound level. Over the course of a revelatory monthly cycle, surprising events could arise and offer new perspectives on intimate connection and, as well, group activities that lead you closer to your true heart’s desire. You are seeking greater societal participation as a result of the fruits of what you create. There are dramatic changes at the core of your being, perhaps affecting your family or your home itself, or your family of origin. It is all grist for your mill as you intentionally strive to be the best that you can be, and to come into the most authentic version of yourself that you can muster.
The following was written by our resident monthly columnist Elodie St-Onge Aubut of Ninth House Astrology
The month begins on the other side of the Leo New Moon that in essentials defines it. This brings, for the August month, a fresh cycle to the part of your chart that relates to your hopes and your aspirations, as well as your societal contribution. These themes are more prominent now and throughout August so that you may find yourself compelled towards friends and like-minded people and groups that you chime with, and could also be looking more thoroughly into the creative work that you do from which your community, large or small, can benefit. Jupiter in Aries forming a trine to the Sun and Moon in Leo at the time of the New Moon could bring important relationships to the forefront and you might be focused on collaborating with others. Social events may feel more energizing and you could find yourself invited to various parties or spend time networking and making new connections. Your personal projects and goals might also take center stage or you may have to find the balance between too much discipline versus not enough. A particular partnership could also be requiring a lot of your time and it might be harder to focus on your personal needs within the instability of a particular scenario.
From August 1st to the 2nd, the triple conjunction of Mars, Uranus and the North Node perfects in Taurus, where for you, intimacy and deep connection reside. This is a very dynamic and unpredictable aspect that could bring unforeseen factors to your entire month especially regarding your intimate or business partnerships. You may have to contend with events or realizations outside of your control while still having to show up for them. Trying to stabilize things or take a rigid approach could prove to be more difficult, so that it may be best to go with the flow with whatever comes your way at this time.
Mercury’s entry into the sign of Virgo on the 4th shifts some of your attention onto your inner world and you might need occasional periods of solitude throughout the month to return to your sense of outer world purpose.
On the 6th and 7th, the month’s first weekend, Venus in Cancer trine Neptune could bring a pleasant and enjoyable influence. However, Mars in Taurus squaring Saturn in Aquarius at the same time could also highlight some irreconcilable tension. Again, you may have to put your priorities on the back burner to help someone else but your desire to be of service could also take precedence over your personal needs.
The Full Moon takes place in Aquarius on August 11th and it culminates in the part of your chart that relates to your self-expression and your personal endeavors. You may have been hard at work on a creative project and this Full Moon can represent a period of real integration and progress for the efforts you have been making. Saturn conjoining the Full Moon could highlight additional commitment in this timing, or certain limits that may have been standing in your way and could have kept you from progressing. You may also realize the purpose of these partial blockages and how they may have served you well in the long run. This Full Moon also squares Uranus in Taurus, highlighting intuitive factors or agreements or other conditions that could somewhat be out of your control. Surprise events could also lead you to unexpected novel understandings. During this second half of the month, as opposed to trying to manage people or events which seem out of your immediate ability to compel, you might have to give up and just surrender to the experience
Mars enters Gemini on the 20th where it will spend an exceptionally long time due to its retrograde motion that begins later on, in the last few months of the year. Mars in Gemini brings focus to the part of your chart that relates to travel, learning and teaching, or other higher mind activities. You could find yourself desiring new experiences in the months ahead. For now, Mars in Gemini brings you the conceptualization of new ideas and a period of gestation for things yet to come.
The Sun enters Virgo on the 23rd, signaling the beginning of a more introspective time for you and an excellent opportunity to take stock of this past highly developmental year. Things could feel somehow ill-defined so that it may be best to wait on major decisions if you feel unsure of what you want. Mercury enters Libra on the 25th where it will station retrograde in September, which could imply that things developing right now could take more time than anticipated to unfold.
Then, the New Moon in Virgo taking place on the 27th signals the beginning of a reflective month, which is inner-oriented, and yet which also allows you to take stock and re-orient yourself more genuinely towards your goals and aspirations.
