Cancer Horoscope for December 2023

Posted on November 30, 2023 by Henry Seltzer of ASTROGRAPH.COM

This month remains a somewhat difficult time for you, Cancer, with the reward of greater self-knowledge. You are delving into the roots of your creativity and seeing how your own inner values affect your work in the outer world. What is at stake is a revised viewpoint on your standing in the world, or the ways that you are known, your public persona. Surmounting ancient patterns within you might be able to be a determinative in finding your most authentic way forward. As the December month begins, you are likely mulling over these matters and the way that intuitional knowledge from deep inside can provide clues as to where you are – in the long run – actually heading. Recent fluctuations in your bottom line might provide further clues. You are perhaps less a victim in these circumstances but rather an adventuring hero, exploring what it is vital that you explore. Mid-month, on December 12th, coincident with the Sagittarius New Moon, you are looking into everything, including your dynamic with important partners. You are journeying closer to your true mission statement of what you are up to in this lifetime.

The New Moon in Scorpio that took place mid-November kicked off a new cycle in the part of your chart that relates to your children, your creativity, your self-expression and everything that brings you joy. This cycle is still unfolding as December arrives and your attention is likely to be on your family, your children or on a personal project which is dear to your heart. Uranus, emphasized once more in the recent Scorpio New Moon in your social sector, is still giving you lots of choices as you proceed with your evolving mission statement toward a novel future plan. Your natural care-taking inclinations could be emphasized for the December month’s first eleven days and you could feel more demonstrative with your loved ones. This creative period could also be beneficial in your broader social circles and bring new opportunities through friends or colleagues. December will be an unusually busy time with more logistics to tend to and also more opportunities to socialize and connect with partners, family and your broader circle of friends.

The month begins with Mercury moving to Capricorn on the 1st and forming a sextile with Saturn in Pisces on the 2nd which is an aspect that will occur twice more until mid-January and connects the partnership sector of your chart with the one that relates to teaching and learning. Venus in Libra squares Pluto in Capricorn on the 3rd highlighting negotiation efforts with a family member or with a partner. If you have been trying to reach an agreement with someone, Venus entering Scorpio on the 4th and forming a sextile with Saturn on the 5th could bring progress or at least new perspectives in the coming weeks.

The New Moon in Sagittarius on the 12th takes place in the part of your chart that relates to routine, your health, and your habits and how everything flows together on a daily basis. Neptune has just stationed direct in Pisces and forms a square with the New Moon emphasizing a contrast between your long term goals and your everyday responsibilities. You may be fantasizing about travel and far-away places and although this could be possible in the future, there may be some important logistics to tend to before you can get there. Jupiter in Taurus which rules over this New Moon is separating from an opposition with Venus emphasizing sensual pleasures and possible indulgence and although this New Moon brings new intentions surrounding your habits, you could get tested on your resolve in the coming weeks.

Mercury turns retrograde in Capricorn on the late evening of the 12th while separating from an aspect with Venus in Scorpio; you may be inclined to revise your alliances over the next several weeks and who you want to spend time with. You are looking more closely into your relationship dynamic and your patterns with particular partners. You may be focusing on prioritizing your needs first and foremost, or you may come to realize who is best able to support you in your process.

On the 21st, the Sun enters Capricorn which in the Northern Hemisphere signals the Winter Solstice and the longest night of the year. This Capricorn Solstice also represents a time period when the Sun is traveling in opposition to your sign, exactly six months away from the Cancer Solstice of June, therefore emphasizing the sector of your chart that relates to important partnerships and the agreements that you can forge with each other. You may become more aware of the roles that other people play in your life and the compromises that must be made.

The Full Moon in your sign arrives a few days later on the 26th which could bring a striking contrast between what you do for others versus what you need from them. This Full Moon is a good time to tune into your body and your senses and take stock of where you are at with getting your needs met. Saturn in Pisces is forming a supportive trine to the Full Moon which may highlight the integrative perspectives or frameworks that support you and help you conceptualize your long term visions. The Full Moon Sun in Capricorn forms a joyous trine with Jupiter in Taurus, in operation until the end of the first full week of the New Year, while both Mercury and Mars in Sagittarius form a square with Neptune in Pisces. Note that these are festive signatures that could also easily lead to excess.

Venus enters Sagittarius on the 29th and Jupiter turns direct in Taurus on the following day. The ending of the month and year shows up with joy and a passion for new adventures. With Venus and Jupiter also now transiting in each other’s signs, pleasure, bounty and sensuality could be your mantra as you reach for the brass ring in the New Year.
