Capricorn Horoscope for December 2023

Posted on November 30, 2023 by Henry Seltzer of ASTROGRAPH.COM

This is a month of change and introspection for you, Capricorn, when you are riding high on outgoing social success going into it, and when there is a more quietly thoughtful time that comes active the last two thirds of December, after the 12th. As the month begins, you are very keen on your communal contribution and your rather outstanding social sensibility, putting your money where your heart is. Once the Sagittarius New Moon of the 12th takes place, in your sector of inner work, and influenced by Chiron and Eris in combination – located in your root cellar sector of home and family, and accompanied by the retrograde of Mercury in your sign later that same evening – you descend into a largely introspective and self-reflective mode, examining as best you can those impulses that drive you, from below, as it were, underneath the level of conscious thought. These are of course very significant factors in your ability to deliver what you feel called to deliver, contributing to your ultimate happiness. Your values are transforming from the inside out, and your beliefs and worldview is undergoing intense questioning as well. Even though you are probably walking the walk of your inward dialogue quite successfully, there might be room for course corrections as you emerge, by mid- to late-January, more fully into the New Year.

The New Moon in Scorpio from last mid- November kicked off a potent new cycle in the sector of your chart that relates to your community and your broader social circle. This lunation cycle being still active through the first third of the current month of December may continue to bring opportunities to network and connect with like-minded people and to evaluate what you bring to friendships or groups that you favor or your community. Although this period of the year can also bring a more introspective influence, you may be experiencing a renewal within your social life and group activities could help get out of your head and have fun. Jupiter in Taurus brings exceptional support in the later part of December so make sure to book some time off to relax and connect to your playful side.

On December 1st, Mercury moves into your sign simultaneously forming a sextile with Saturn in Pisces from the 1st to the 2nd, an aspect that will occur twice more until mid-January due to Mercury’s upcoming retrograde. Talking, writing, or negotiating could feature strongly and the spotlight could be on your skills and what you have to offer. You may be able to convince other people or share your perspectives more easily. You mental acuity is sharp at this time and your communication is well developed also.

Venus enters Scorpio on the 4th which continues to bring focus on social and community matters. Your attention may also be pulled towards your long term goals, your dreams and vision for the future in the weeks ahead. Venus trines Saturn in Pisces from the 4th to the 6th while Neptune turns direct in your communication sector on the 6th; these two aspects that can bring more leverage and authority to your words and what you have to say.

During the second week of December, supportive aspects to Mercury in your sign could bring clarity and inspiration especially in regards to what you want and need. Venus forms an opposition with Jupiter on the 9th and 10th which could bring a propensity towards excess. This period could be quite pleasurable if you manage to direct your appetites and craving for excitements towards constructive or creative outlets

The New Moon in Sagittarius arrives on December 12th, and brings budding seeds of awareness for things related to your unconscious or deeper patterns that are not always so obvious. A new cycle begins now that can help you better understand some of your hidden motivations, psychological complexes or self-defeating patterns that keep you from experiencing more joy in your life. Give yourself permission to let go of control and connect with the parts of yourself who crave flow and unabashed candor.

Mercury turns retrograde in your sign on the late evening of the 12th, signaling the beginning of a three week period when you may be able to bridge the conscious and unconscious parts of yourself more directly and witness how subliminal thought patterns could be affecting your health. Greater time of clarity and joy lies ahead if you rise up to the challenge of being honest about what is bothering you and what needs to change in your life.

The Sun enters your sign on the 21st, signaling the Capricorn Solstice and, in the Northern Hemisphere, the longest night of the year. This is an important place on the Zodiac and this year, Mercury Retrograde meets the Sun at zero degrees of Capricorn; a place that was called ‘’The Gate of the Gods’’ by ancient astrologers. The meeting of Mercury and the Sun on the 22nd of December brings forth a profound yet hermetic light symbolizing the emergence of new life to come, a moment of illumination, and a promise of rebirth.

The Full Moon in your opposite sign of Cancer arrives a few days later on December 26th just as Chiron stations direct in Aries the evening of the same day. For you, this Full Moon may shine a light on your relational dynamics and the compromises made with partners or family members. Your desire for more joy and happiness in your life continues to take center stage, yet you may also be acutely aware of the people and of the relational dynamics that stand in the way. Saturn, your ruler, in Pisces forms a supportive trine with the Full Moon which augers emotional fulfillment for you over these next two weeks, and may also allow you to clarify where you need better boundaries. This also creates a focus on what your true feelings are regarding an inner sense of right and wrong, available to you in a way that leads to greater connectivity with others.

On the 27th the last week of the year continues with the Sun in your sign forming a pleasant trine with Jupiter in Taurus while both Mercury and Mars in Sagittarius form a square with Neptune in Pisces. These are festive signatures that could easily lead to excess, although they are essentially joyous.

Venus enters Sagittarius on the 29th and Jupiter turns direct in Taurus on the 30th. With Venus and Jupiter now transiting in each other’s signs, pleasure, bounty and sensuality could be emphasized as we ring in the New Year. Although, also, everything in moderation as they say.
