This is another month, Libra, with a great deal of astrological archetypal energy swirling about, indicating a hopeful optimism as a balance point to necessary limitation and constraint. A powerful intuitional understanding and clarity of thought are important components, when you can find the grace and the confidence to let them in. December is thus not all challenge, although that factor is present. You are being prompted by the universe to carefully curate your own internal principles and values, allowing these to predominate, as you can come to this, excluding early conditioning or consensus thought as factors in your decision process. Relationship matters also claim your attention and have something important to contribute, although just what could be unclear. Sorting out the spiritual power of these realizations from the necessity of commitment that does fully understand its source might be one major task of this potentially mystical and also mysterious timing. Novel ideas keep coming, some more worthy than others, and all of them influential. This is a strong month for progress, especially in its final ten days. As you continue to reach for a balance point, the Gemini Full Moon of December’s first week, culminating on the 4th, might be a good moment to take stock. In terms of relationship there could be issues with early childhood wounding that come up for better integration and healing because, in some sense, the time is right for further progress there. If you can take this as a sacrament, and an opportunity – not to shun but rather to accept and emotionally profit from – this month could wind up as a blessing for your subsequent partnership development.

Previous New Moon – from November 19th
December opens in the lingering resonance of the Scorpio New Moon from mid-November, the 19th, which activated your second sector of self-worth, resources, and the ways to invest your time and energy. This lunation arrived in conjunction with Mercury’s Cazimi and formed a grand kite with Saturn and Neptune in Pisces, Jupiter in Cancer, and Uranus in Taurus. Pluto is again activated in your fourth sector of home and family, so that this area is still subject to revaluation and transformation, perhaps involving your family of origin. Something about your values, and as well your communicative outreach to others, may have sharpened into focus, perhaps revealing a truth you had sensed for some time but had not yet fully named. This New Moon may have touched a tender place that relates to how you care for yourself, what you prioritize, and how you calibrate the exchange between giving and receiving. You may notice early in the month that this insight continues to unfold in layers, guiding you toward a clearer sense of what strengthens your sense of vitality, as well as what tends to deplete it.
Mercury Direct and Recovering, since November 29th
Mercury’s station direct on November 29th begins a gradual shift from inward reflection toward clearer movement. As Mercury retraces its Scorpio terrain and re-enters Sagittarius on December 11th, conversations, ideas, and everyday exchanges open back up, though still with a reflective undertone. By December 16th, when Mercury finally clears its shadow, you may notice your thinking and communication regaining fuller momentum, helping you integrate recent insights with more ease and coherence.
Gemini Full Moon – December 4th
The Gemini Full Moon on December 4th lights up the Sagittarius–Gemini axis, activating your third sector of communication and ninth sector of higher learning and drawing attention to the stories you tell about your life and the meaning you make from them. Your learning curve gets a boost here and also what could be impacted is your sense of inner wounding in connection with your relationships, as Chiron in your opposite sign of Aries is also highlighted. This lunation forms an exact square to the nodal axis, creating a crossroads feeling that highlights the tension between familiar ways of thinking and the larger truths you’re reaching toward. Something you’ve been studying, questioning, or slowly piecing together may reach a moment of illumination. You may notice competing narratives, or feel pulled between intuition and logic, curiosity and certainty. This Full Moon asks you to hold multiple perspectives at once, allowing contradictions to refine your understanding rather than fracture it. It marks a subtle turning point in your worldview, encouraging you to stay open as new connections, meanings, and possibilities take shape.
Jupiter Trine Saturn – Ongoing Through Mid-December
A stabilizing support runs beneath the month through the long-running trine between Jupiter in Cancer and Saturn in Pisces. This harmonious aspect activates your tenth sector of career and sixth sector of wellness and service, encouraging steady growth in the realm of vocation, service, and the rhythms that support your daily life. You may notice that a professional effort begun earlier in the year is now gaining traction, or that a persistent practice is finally bearing fruit. This influence offers grounding and balance, helping you build confidence in your long-term direction, and deeper cultivations.
Sun, Mars, and Venus Square Saturn–Neptune Throughout the Month
As Mars, the Sun, and Venus move through late Sagittarius, each forms square aspects to Saturn and Neptune in Pisces, activating your third sector of thought and language and sixth sector of mundane habitual life process. This takes place just before these inner planets ingress into Capricorn, and may create a subtle friction between what you hope to express and what your daily reality can hold, stirring questions about pace, capacity, and clarity. You may notice fluctuations in motivation or attention, or moments when inspiration feels vivid but hard to ground. These squares gently expose where idealism, people-pleasing, or diffuse expectations have clouded the picture, while also inviting you to approach your routines and communications with more honesty and nuance.
Neptune Stations Direct – December 10th
As Neptune stations direct on December 10th, its influence intensifies in your sixth sector of health and wellbeing, heightening sensitivity around health, routines, and daily rhythms. This can bring intuitive insight into what your body or schedule truly needs, but it may also blur boundaries or create brief confusion as the atmosphere feels more porous. This period invites you to stay grounded while listening for subtle cues, allowing clarity to re-emerge as the fog gradually lifts.
Mars Square Neptune – December 12th to the 15th
This is the first inner planet to enter Capricorn and as it does, square (in particular) Neptune in the last or anaretic degree of Pisces, perched right on the edge of your opposite sign of Aries or your relationship sector. With your relationship sector ruler, Mars, in square alignment, this might be a time when Neptune’s numinous qualities and confusing presence might enter into your partnership dynamics.
Mars Enters Capricorn – December 14th
Mars enters Capricorn on December 14th, energizing your fourth sector of home, foundations, and inner life. Mars is exalted here, bringing clarity and determination that may inspire you to reorganize your space, address lingering family matters, or fortify your emotional base. This transit favors steady, tangible action and reminds you that tending your roots is a vital part of caring for yourself.
Sagittarius New Moon – December 19th
The Sagittarius New Moon of December 19th opens a fresh chapter in your third sector of communication, ideas, and local environment. With your ruling planet, Venus, nearby and the Saturn–Neptune square still active, this New Moon asks for sincerity, presence, and clarity in your interactions. You may feel the spark of new curiosity or a desire to reconnect with your voice after Mercury’s earlier retrograde cycle, and a clarifying of how your are owning and communicating your values. This is an important reset that invites mindful exchange and renewed vigor for learning.
Sun Enters Capricorn – December 21st
The Sun’s entrance into Capricorn on December 21st is the Capricorn Solstice, and spotlights your fourth sector of home once more, drawing you toward what steadies and supports you. This turning point invites a return to your inner anchors and may bring a quiet sense of commitment to the structures that hold your emotional life.
Venus Enters Capricorn – December 24th
Venus enters Capricorn on December 24th, further emphasizing themes of home, stability, and belonging. As your ruling planet, Venus brings warmth and intentionality to your foundations, supporting grounded connection and the creation of spaces that feel sincere, steady, and true, as you wind down this year and prepare for the next.
