The Full Moon in Libra arrives on April 1st, 2026, exact at 7:11 PM Pacific Time, at 12°20′ of the sign. This lunation illuminates all things Libra: the connective and relational dimension of being, the ways we seek and reach for a sense of equilibrium, balance, and justice. These are not static or fixed states of being, but an ongoing conversation with ourselves, with each other, and with the larger forces of life. As always at the Full Moon, we find the Sun in opposition, here in the sign of Aries, where a fresh and vital energy enlivens our shared ethers with its characteristic boldness and forward momentum. This Aries-Libra axis naturally brings the polarity of self and other into relief, asking each of us to extend beyond our own view or perspective and remain genuinely open to approaches and ways of being that may differ from our own.
In Aries, alongside the Sun, two potent conjunctions are shaping the atmosphere in significant ways. The first and most sweeping is the ongoing conjunction of Neptune and Saturn, now separating, yet still together in the early degrees of Aries, Neptune at 2° and Saturn at 5°. These two planetary archetypes are antithetical forces that come together only once every 38 years or so, and their pairing consistently coincides with periods of deep collective disillusionment, a dissolving of familiar structures, disparate camps of ideological contrast that cannot accept the other, and a slow reimagining of the societal frameworks that underpin our cultural landscape. We find ourselves in precisely such a moment now. The boundaries between truth and illusion are blurred, the old certainties are eroding, and what replaces them is not yet fully formed. Navigating this threshold requires clear-eyed discernment, the willingness to embrace paradox, and the capacity to tolerate the discomfort of uncertainty.
The second planetary conjunction in Aries is at 25° of the sign, where Chiron, the Wounded Healer, meets Eris, Feminine Warrior archetype associated with unflinching directness, and what it means to stand in one’s own independent truth regardless of social expectation. This pairing may have a fierce, clarifying quality. It cuts through falsity and calls us back to an unapologetic expression of our authentic nature, asking us to reclaim what lies deep within, that cultural conditioning has caused us to disown or suppress. In combining with Chiron, old wounds around identity, worth, and belonging could surface, asking to be met with the sense of serious life purpose that they deserve, along with consciousness and compassion. This can be a powerful and potent alignment, and it is not without its tenderness.
Noteworthy as well is that the Libra Moon is conjunct Makemake, a trans-Neptunian object that the astrological community has only recently begun to study in earnest. Our founder, Henry Seltzer, has been conducting extensive research into Makemake and its counterpart Haumea, and his findings suggest that Makemake carries an archetype connected to fundamental forces of the natural world, one that expresses itself culturally through themes of environmentalism, social or nature activism, and a fiercely protective, active orientation to our relationship with the earth. With Makemake conjunct this Full Moon, we may find ourselves feeling a heightened sense of urgency, grief, or impassioned readiness to stand up for the natural world. We are living in the midst of an escalating climate disaster and an interconnected poly-crisis that is beyond what any one of our psyches can fully digest. This in spite of having information flooded to us in a myriad of channels and forms. While it may be inevitable to feel moments of despair, we may also feel our call into genuine tending: allowing ourselves to grieve, while simultaneously looking for the ways we can actively protect and advocate for the living world we are so intimately intertwined with and a part of.
The Sun-Moon opposition at this Full Moon also forms a T-square to Jupiter, still occupying its exalted position in Cancer. This configuration is, on the whole, energy-rich in its expression. Jupiter in Cancer invites an expansion of our emotional capacity, an opening of the heart toward ourselves and others as we collectively navigate this demanding chapter. And yet a T-square always carries dynamic tension, a pressurized quality that can feel like being swept into a rapidly moving current. There is growth available here, but it may feel less like a gentle unfolding and more like a forceful forward surge. What matters most, then, is how we orient ourselves to that current. Jupiter’s invitation is to point our intentions clearly and trust that the river will carry us somewhere meaningful, while remaining attentive to limitation, as Jupiter also carries the tendency toward excess. Directing our energy and desires with care and conscious intention is especially important now.
On a sweet note, the ruling planet of this Libra Full Moon is Venus, and she is currently residing in her sign of rulership, Taurus, and in close opposition to nature planet Haumea. This is a genuinely beautiful cord to tune into during a moment that carries so much weight and complexity. Venus in Taurus reconnects us to the wisdom of the body, the nourishment of the senses, and the simple but profound restorative power of pleasure, beauty, and loving connection. Opposite Haumea, there may be lessons or realizations around developing our own sense of unique moral compass that we are willing to live by. Seeking out sensorial experiences that bring genuine delight, time in nature, nourishing food, rest, beauty, physical affection, is not indulgence during times such as these. It is instead an act of tending, a way of filling the inner well so that we may continue to show up with resilience, warmth, and an open heart. We cannot pour from an empty vessel, and Venus in Taurus reminds us of this with characteristic, earthy grace.
May we each find our birds of a feather, fellow travelers who share our values and help us navigate with kindness. May we hold the capacity to bridge polarities, within ourselves and with one another, and may we make strides to weave together a world that honors peace, compassion, and the sacred wholeness of the natural world.
