This is another amazing month, Aries, when fundamental transformation is in the air, and when your creativity is highlighted. Mercury is in retrograde from its beginning and stations direct on August 11th, recovering after this date for another two weeks of the post-retrograde shadow, lasting until the 25th. The retrograde is also, along with the recent New Moon, in your sector of creative self-expression, additionally associated with projects, romance, any children in your life, and what brings you joy in general. While you are off to a fresh start in all these areas, you are also tending to review and ultimately question these things as well, striving for most of August to better understand yourself and your productions. There could be issues of misconnections or of misunderstandings in these areas that will, over time, slowly straighten out and become more clear. This attempt at arriving at a meditative sense of yourself and your creativity is, however, almost drowned out by a particularly wild time of change that finds you up, down, and all around. By month’s ending you could wind up an entirely different person than when you started with regard to your identity, your social connections or life goals, and your communicative outreach to others around you. Your intuitive information is heighted during an active month of meaningful change, and one important trap would be if you fail to pay the closest possible attention to that inner voice that tell you true no matter what, when you can stay centered in that possibility. Your sense of limitation can feel overwhelming, and yet when you can allow yourself to surrender to what is, you will be able to take unexpected advantage of where the cosmos is currently leading you. It might be best to just fasten your seatbelt and trust your higher self to have the intelligence to bring you through.

The month begins with a generous emphasis on your fellow fire sign Leo, following the recent New Moon in this sign from the last full week of July. This lunation, which governs the weeks ahead and your fifth house of creative projects, romance, pleasure, and joy, features the transformative presence of Pluto, opposite the New Moon. In the chart, of this New Moon, Pluto is also in sextile to Saturn and Neptune in your sign, and trines Uranus in Gemini, in addition to his exact opposition to the Leo Sun and Moon, making this an extremely potent new beginning. Saturn and Neptune being greatly highlighted in your sign in this New Moon could bring unconscious elements into play along with a “stop-and-go” kind of ride, with one foot simultaneously on the brake pedal.
Mercury is also retrograding through this same sign of Leo which also colors this month’s astrological energies. You might be questioning, reviewing, or otherwise spotlighting your talents and artistic interests, your happiness, sexuality, fertility and fun, aware of friends and people close to you, or those in your wider network that impact your creative process, your indulgent side, or your experience of children. This New Moon can also touch on how you show up expressing your ideas as an individual. With Venus square Mars during the New Moon, environmental factors could prove significant. Local connections, siblings and general interactions could be a distraction, as you attempt to manage your wellbeing, or creative activities.
On August 6th, your ruling planet Mars enters Libra and your relationship sector, where it’s in detriment and therefore operating in a space that’s deferential, thus you might be inclined to put a partner first. Whether or not this is going on, relationships are likely to take a front seat in your focus right now. Mars forms a trine to Uranus, an opposition to Saturn and Neptune, and a trine to Pluto during its ingress into your house of partners. With this planetary dynamic, you might find your unions are prominent, that you’re paying attention to other people at a very personal level – not only a spouse but all sorts of primary engagements. A best friend or business partner, your peers or community members could impact you, and close allies and all kinds of interactions could feature, with these characters potentially affecting how you see yourself, your sense of identity, and your communication style. One key individual could challenge the way you’re reimagining and re-framing who you are, established as a solo presence in groups or social settings.
In the timing of the Aquarius Full Moon of the 9th, there is more of this same dynamic in play, so that there is the potential to reveal something more about your peers, contacts, and your approach to information, language or your mindset. It’s possible you could find yourself illuminating humanitarian goals, dreams and desires that are important to you, while you continue to be focused on your own interests, in alignment with the Sun resplendent in its domicile sign of Leo.
Mercury stations direct in Leo between the 10th and 11th of August and continues to recover from its retrograde over the next two weeks. At the same time, Saturn is precisely sextile Uranus, while Venus in Cancer is conjunct Jupiter. This is perhaps a good moment to pause for thought, considering what you’ve come to realize about the way you express yourself, engaging with people around you, formally, responsibly, and with consistency. Participating in your environment may generally take on a different tone, with advances in your comprehension or use of technology, thanks to Uranus, planet of innovation and change, newly in your third sector of learning, curiosity and philosophical orientation. What could be important are your passions, creativity and how you relate and show up for others, with the potential to gain more clarity around what you want, what makes you happy, and what it’s important for you to articulate. Your caretaking tendencies at home or your role as a nurturer may be boosted, with an appreciation of your inner world and emotional roots. Yet you could be conflicted between what’s personally inspiring you, and what feels practical, secure and safe.
On the 15th, the Last Quarter Taurus Moon lights up your sector of income, values and rewards, in mutual reception with Venus. This could find you leaning into productivity, contributing something valuable to your family, or gaining security within. Mercury connects in a sextile to Mars at this time, perhaps giving you energy to engage and speak up to a significant other, having taken time to explore your desires and what matters to you in relationships. You might avoid putting unnecessary expectations on another person, however, and gauge their reaction to what you propose.
The Sun enters Virgo on the 22nd, the immediate focal point of a powerful yod, or “Finger of God” aspect, from Pluto and Saturn-Neptune.
The Virgo New Moon soon ensues late that evening PT, or early morning the 23rd for the east coast and Europe, with the same yod formation showing up, which signals another transformational thirty-day lunation cycle ahead, with further emphasis on Saturn in your sign symbolizing limitations, yet also with a mystical overtone that could be very educational in a novel way. The New Moon also squares Uranus, adding an exciting dimension of surprising events and unexpected enlightenment. Your sector of day-to-day preservation and workplace settings is the focus, which encompasses habitual behaviors, household efficiencies, and your heath regimens, and yet also your solo presence and community. At this point, you might be turning over a new leaf approaching your domestic routines, support systems, admin, jobs and the upkeep of your wellbeing but also find you’re considerate of your hopes for friends, peers and people in wider circles you’re involved with, too. Your physical image and a maturity about your character could be impactful in this fresh start, so that your wellbeing goes beyond scheduled maintenance, involving a much deeper dynamic and your social scene.
As maverick Uranus demands attention during New Moon you might adjust to progressive notions – digital innovation, techniques or ideas that are ahead of their time – which are beginning to impact your communications, news engagement, your skills or surroundings, integrating an alteration into your routines or regular employment practice,.
