Aries Horoscope for August 2018

You are a living paradox this month, Aries. You are riding a wave that has both forward and backward momentum. Also, while putting yourself out into the world with dedication, there is quite a lot going on for you below the surface. Painful places within you might come to light this summer, and if so, it is for the purpose of healing these issues and beginning to move beyond them. Once accepted, these hurt and lonely places inside contribute greatly to your sense of integration. Although extremely aware of and sensitive to the past, and at times almost stopped in your tracks with just a whisper of forward movement, there is also a wild impulse somewhere deep inside you that wants you to shoot off in all directions. You will want to pay careful attention to everything that is going on around you and within you. Your intuition is extremely powerful now, and will greatly reward your tuning in to it.

Your month begins in the midst of Eclipse season, and just as the retrograde of your ruler, Mars, in your eleventh house, is squaring Uranus in Taurus in your second. Since the middle of May, the topics of friends and finances, groups or organizations and your personal values have been pronounced, and as August begins, tensions in these areas are once again rising. You might be beyond ready to make some bold or creative decisions, and it wouldn’t be surprising if they were simultaneously linked to changes or challenges in your finances or among friends, colleagues, or within organizations.

Between August 6th and August 9th Venus will enter Libra and move into your seventh house of relationships where it will immediately apply to a square with Saturn in your career house. Watch for either the deepening of your commitments and seriousness in relationships or for strain or rigidity in relationships, perhaps related in part to your career or the workplace.

The month ahead also features Mercury’s ongoing retrograde through your fifth house of pleasure, creativity, children, and pregnancy. You may be changing your mind about a creative pursuit, or you might be reaching an important turning point within a creative process. On the other hand, you may need to revise or reconsider how you communicate with others, because what seems like harmless fun to you might come across as insensitive or even arrogant to someone else. Note that Mercury will turn direct again on August 18th, at which point you may begin to finalize or implement something important.

On August 11th a solar eclipse in Leo will continue to emphasize your fifth house. Remember that not everything we do for fun is healthy for us. A fifth house eclipse may signify the need to reduce or eliminate unhealthy behaviors from our lives that we do in the name of fun, creativity, or pleasure. On the other hand, this fifth house solar eclipse can signify powerful turns of events in relation to your children, creativity, or the arts in general, which could be prove to be deeply inspiring!

Finally, on August 26th, the Full Moon in Pisces will land in your twelfth house, just as Venus in Libra in your seventh house squares Pluto in Capricorn in your tenth. While the Venus/Pluto square features themes of transformation in both the workplace and in partnerships or love, the Full Moon in the twelfth simultaneously warns of an unseen and perhaps emotional or manipulative force at work in your life. You should be careful of trying to fix or heal people who are not taking the initiative to heal themselves, be on guard against self-destructive impulses in relationships or at work, and be especially careful of secrets or secret motivations having a negative influence on you. It’s a great time to call on the courage of your Aries sign to face or confront whatever issues you see lurking in the shadows!
