This is a month of confusing but rewarding overall progress, Cancer, especially if you can take the widest possible view of your actual goals. You are heavily invested in career successes, and in your creative output in support, with important new beginnings unfolding there. You are also well aware of inner priorities, and that these, while more subtle, might be of more significance in the long run. You are somewhat struggling to define your home base in the psychological sense and also your future direction, which seems to be somewhat up in the air at the moment with the retrograde of Mercury through this sector of your chart. You win when you have the patience to wait for the river to clear, by mid-May, before making any major decisions, and when you can keep your gaze turned inward as well as outward to see all that there is to see.

April is a big month for you Cancerians, and you may feel a bit like hiding out in the safety of your shell amidst the many unexpected events. It is indicated in the configuration of the recent Aries New Moon of March 27th that initiated the current cycle that there is a potent process unfolding in regards to the balance between your public and private life. This could also be arising in terms of your career versus your home life, or where your formative childhood experiences are still shaping and informing your current relationship to authority. Whatever ways these energies are manifesting, it is likely to be somewhat tumultuous, and the surprising circumstances that arise have equal potential to be pleasant or painful. Perhaps life is showing you where your ways of being are in alignment with you inner world, giving you green lights, boons and blessings where you are living in clarity and integration. It might also reveal to you the places where you have more healing and growth work to do. Adopting Rob Brezsny’s “Pronoia” approach – that is, the belief that universe is always conspiring in your favor – can help you take any challenging events in stride. With a foundational belief that your highest good is always intact, you may allow challenging circumstances and people to be your greatest allies and best teachers. In moments of upheaval it is understandable to become triggered into victimhood, black and white thinking, or running shame/blame stories on yourself or others. However, you know in your heart that this approach only perpetuates your own pain and suffering. Expanding your perspective to see challenge or pain as your ally has the power to transmute difficult situations into increased personal empowerment.

It could be quite helpful this month to ground yourself with daily practices that help you feel more stable amidst the mayhem. Whether that’s meditation, yoga, eating wisely, or drinking plenty of water, you benefit when you can really focus in on taking care of yourself and your own well being. The more you can find structure and good personal boundAries in the day-to-day, the more liberation you will find to free up your energies so that you may offer your brilliance to the world in a way that is meaningful and valuable to you.

Around the time of the Libra Full Moon on April 10th, anger and wounding could crop up in a surprising way. This may reveal itself to you most acutely through issues around your career path, the way you relate to authority, or in partnership. If you do become angry or reactive, take time to really nourish that part of yourself that is triggered. Anger is a messenger– what is it telling you? It may have something to do with where you feel hindered in offering your gifts and contributions to others. This could be due to young parts of you that still don’t believe you are good enough or worthy of expressing yourself fully in that way, which is a very prominent theme because Venus is in her retrograde cycle until the 15th. There is an invitation here for big renegotiations and reevaluations – both inward and outward – around your dreams, goals, and what it really is you are here on this earth to do. While some of the realizations of this process could be painful, there is yet a tremendous opportunity to access a deeper emotional clarity and reap the gifts of your formative childhood experiences. You may be able to see more clearly how the things that happened when you were younger are still shaping who you are, today, and how while events might have hurt you then, they also helped to strengthen you. Our deepest wounds may arise to be transmuted into our most profound gifts. If you can re-parent your inner child, bringing sensitivity and emotional wisdom to the parts of yourself that are hurting, you might begin to heal in those places within you that lack self worth or are suffering in some way. Through this process, you may come to understand and value yourself in new ways around your own unique brilliance and genius. This month presents vast and amazing potentials for you to emerge with new insights around how to love and take care of yourself, as you emerge with greater clarity about making your contribution to the world.
