This month serves notice, following upon the two powerful eclipses of July, that whatever is going on with you, including the path to resolve old wounding, has resonance with the way that you regard your connections with others, especially those involving significant intimate relationships. This may additionally engage with the very concept of partnership as an important life factor for you. Your future plans have recently taken on a radical new shine of edgy possibility. You are feeling a glow of newfound creativity and an essentially spiritual approach to life and love. With the retrograde of Mercury through a key sector of your solar chart, you have been also re-thinking finances and other outer resources, aligning yourself in new ways with inner values that are more pertinent to yourself and yourself alone.

Your month gets started with a bang, as Mars retrograde in Aquarius in your eighth house immediately squares Uranus in Taurus in your eleventh house, just days after a lunar eclipse in Aquarius on July 27th. Right now, your dreams, goals, and visions for the future are changing radically as you are being forced to confront your fears, personal limitations, and the reality of impermanence, loss, or change. Where there are unexpected changes, death, loss, or disruption, remember that there is always an opportunity to reevaluate our life plans, wishes, and dreams. Often the greatest revolutions begin with the unexpected or unanticipated. Or, put differently, sometimes for breakthroughs to happen we must break down, first!

Between August 6th and August 9th, the planet Venus will enter Libra in your fourth house of home and family and make a square to Saturn in Capricorn in your seventh house of partnership. You may be feeling the need to address deeper and more serious topics within your relationships right now, or you might be called to do some healing work related to your parents, family, or home. Be careful of rigidity in your relationships, as this transit may easily tempt you or your partners into an overly conservative or uncompromising position.

Meanwhile, Mercury in Leo is retrograde in your second house for most of the month. This means that you might be experiencing some changes, revisions, or reversals regarding your personal finances or in relation to how you spend your time, money, or energy. Note that by August 18th, Mercury will turn direct, at which point you could notice that any delays, setbacks, or reversals may start to naturally clear up, and any new financial opportunities or ideas that came up during the retrograde period may begin to be implemented.

On August 11th, a solar eclipse in Leo also lands in your second house, further emphasizing the importance of money, finances, resources, and personal/material values for you right now. Ever since the winter of 2016-2017 you have been receiving eclipses in your second house, which means these topics have been pronounced for some time now. This final eclipse in Leo thus signals not only a new beginning in the realm of money, resources, and material values, but it also represents a culmination of the lessons you’ve been learning. You are preparing to turn the corner and start a new chapter in relation to what you own or possess, what you have and hold, and how you want to use your time and energy in the world. As a Cancer, the most important question is always, “Does this lead me to a deeper feeling of emotional intimacy and closeness to the world, to my environment, and to whatever it is I hold most dear'”

On August 12th, Mars will finally retrograde its way out of Aquarius and back into its exalted status in Capricorn in your seventh house of relationships, perhaps putting the spotlight on the hard work, achievements or accomplishments of a partner, or issues or challenges related to the status of a partner or partnership, over all. Note that on August 27th, Mars will finally turn direct, which may signal a turning point for the better, especially regarding both money and partnerships.

Finally, on August 26th, the Full Moon in Pisces will be shining bright in your ninth house of higher mind, just as Venus in Libra in your fourth house is square to Pluto in Capricorn in your seventh house. This sequence points to themes of depth, transformation, and rebirth in the home, family, and intimate relationships, while simultaneously highlighting themes of travel, religion or beliefs, and/or higher education. It might be the perfect time to take a spiritual retreat with a spouse or partner, or to examine the way in which differing beliefs lie at the root of different needs or desires within your home, family, or partnerships. Just remember, as a Cancer you are prone to nurturing others, but if you neglect your own needs, especially in relationships, resentment could begin grow and then fester!
