This is an interesting, fundamentally optimistic and yet in some ways difficult month, Libra. The degree of ease or of difficulty depends entirely upon how well you have been doing your spiritual homework over these past few years. In any case, things might be coming to a head over the course of this month, and somewhere inside yourself you are very aware of this simple and inescapable fact. Key relationships in your life continue to provide surprises, and unexpected enlightenment, as you dream your way into new beginnings regarding your pathway forward. You are changing in the very depths of your being and at some point must acknowledge how radical and how remarkable is your metamorphosis. In the process you are discovering further facets of your path, and coming into greater alignment with your soul intention for this lifetime.

As the month begins, you are enjoying an optimistic feeling of your future unfolding, as symbolized by a lone and highlighted Jupiter residing in your sector of societal involvement and future plans, and also undoubtedly feeling the transformational intensity of these times. You are getting serious about more fully inhabiting the arc of your own development as you face the New Year.

The recent Capricorn New Moon, from the timing of the Winter Solstice, just ten days before the advent of the current month and year, was particularly powerful for you, and at intense inner layers, because the New Moon was located in your fourth solar sector of home, family and your psychological roots. There have all along been stirrings beneath the level of your conscious awareness for at least these past few years, intensifying lately, that might come in time to be regarded as indications that things are changing for you in these deep areas of your psyche. This is true to the extent that you have allowed these transformations to take place. There is resistance, certainly, in you and in all of us; and then there is overcoming that resistance in the name of claiming your wholeness.

It is possible that some of what you are currently going through has to do with family or with your home environment, which has been evolving lately along with the deeper facets of your personality. You could perhaps be dealing with unexpected changes in a family member or in your relationship to this person or persons. If this is the case, then with one part of yourself you of course must deal with the concrete issues that are raised, while with quite another you are calmly watching yourself in action, witnessing what goes on both within you and with your family connections. There is growth implicit in what you do and in the choices that you now make, and when things get tough or scary, that is at least something that you can fall back on.

As you transition into the second half of the month, punctuated by the January 20th Aquarius New Moon and subsequent retrograde of Mercury through your creativity sector, you are in for what might become an even wilder ride. Something deep within you is crying out for attention and calling you to attend to it, something that is uniquely yours and yet also alien to your more surface personality that rides the tides of social acceptance. This is where you might get stuck if you have postponed for too long the work that you must do to recognize this voice inside you, and where you can relax into more of a culmination if you have been able to bridge the chasm to reach across it into the vastness of your inner world.

Meanwhile your creative self-expression is on the line. Something inside you encourages you to be all that you can be, whatever it takes. Someone who seems to come to you like a lover or a friend is whispering this truth in your ear and you are unsure whether to heed the cosmic summons or run from the call of the wild as fast as your weakening legs can carry you. You will spend time later in the month examining your deeper purpose in a cautious and yet also partly unfettered way. All your reflections might turn upon the issue of who, at base, you really are. This is a study that is life-long, and yet you might be able to turn some significant corner, making important progress this month and next, as you examine your choices and the series of adventures that have gotten you this far.
