This is therefore additionally a time for you of great confusion, illusion, and faith in the unknown and unseeable truth behind and beyond the material plane. This month features two eclipses, one in Leo and one in Capricorn, plus a long lineup of transits through Capricorn, corresponding to your eleventh house of friendships, group affiliations and future plans. This begins with a Sun/Saturn conjunction in Capricorn on January 1st, followed by a powerful Solar Eclipse in Capricorn on January 5th, that will bring your concept of your pathway forward to the fore. Later on, a Sun/Pluto conjunction takes place, also in Capricorn on January 10th, and finally there is a square from Mars in Aries to Saturn in Capricorn on January 21st.

With eclipses set to roll through your eleventh house for the next year, and with Saturn moving into a conjunction with Pluto in your eleventh house by the winter of 2020, you are going to be dealing with some very intense energies in this area of your chart for a while to come. The basic nature of the eleventh house is that it connects us to friends and allies, groups and sometimes even benefactors who share similar ambitions, dreams, or goals. The eleventh house is sometimes confused as a “humanitarian” house, but it’s really about social connections and how they shape or share in our highest social, and often professional ambitions in life. Our ambitions may or may not be humanitarian or spiritual. Often enough they are about power, gain, and greed or personal gain. We are all human, after all! In the next year, starting with the powerful lineup of Capricorn transits happening this month, you are therefore exploring your long-term dreams and goals, which are the highest and best dreams and goals' Along with this you are asking yourself who your most helpful friends or colleagues are and what constitutes healthy vs. unhealthy professional or social compromise' If you are willing to be incredibly honest with yourself about your motivations and desires, to look within and ask yourself if your motivations and desires are the right ones, then these transits will likely usher new people into your life that will be truly beneficial for you!

On January 8th, Mercury in Capricorn will square Mars in Aries in your second house of money and resources, and then between January 12th and 13th, Mercury will conjoin Saturn in Capricorn. During this time, you will be trying to make some difficult choices about the prioritization of your time, money, energy, and resources. This is potentially a more reactive and volatile period for you mentally and emotionally, so take your time with making any big decisions. There is an excellent opportunity to get to the bottom of things, or to get clear about your bottom line, but you should pick and choose your words very carefully as you could easily enter unnecessary conflicts with friends or allies, as well.

On January 13th, just as the Sun and Moon come into the square alignment of the First Quarter Moon, Jupiter in Sagittarius in your tenth house of career will square Neptune in Pisces in your home sign. Venus in Sagittarius is also perfecting a trine to Mars in Aries in your second house of money and resources on January 17th. Therefore, 2019 is going to be a big year of personal and professional advancement for you, thanks to Jupiter’s long sojourn through your tenth house, but also thanks in large part to it’s square of Neptune in your home sign. This combination brings what is most unique about you into the public eye, or it has the potential to bring your talents and abilities to the forefront in your professional life or in the eyes of those above you (or fellow experts, etc.). Perhaps the only downside of this transit is that with increased attention, success, or visibility, there may sometimes come confusion about who we are and what we really value. Success is sometimes like a funhouse mirror; it can be exciting, but it can also distort our true nature. If you stay close to your essence, and true to your character, this transit promises the growth of your character and confidence, as well as expansive professional development.

On the late evening of January 20th, a Lunar Eclipse falls in the sign of Leo in your sixth house of labor, sickness, and service, the last of a long series of eclipses in Leo. This indicates that you’ve been working hard and possibly laboring through a period of hardships over the past year and a half. Sixth house hardships help us to develop both empathy and a service attitude, but they are also draining and sometimes even hard on our physical health. This eclipse suggests that you are ready to reap what has been sown of your hard work, or of the trials and challenges of the past year and a half.

Then, on January 22nd, Venus will conjoin Jupiter in Sagittarius in your tenth house, bringing auspiciousness, growth, beauty, and opportunity into your career house to close out the month.
