This is another transformational month for you, Scorpio, as testified by the highlighted presence of Pluto all over the New Moon chart from the last week of the previous month. This current Leo lunation cycle affects mostly your sector of career and profession, where Pluto’s polarity point resides, and where the recent New Moon was concurrently located, indicating a fresh start in this area, together with an ongoing and intensified continuation of the existing sea change. What adds to this is the variation of potential outcomes – or at least their perception – due to the retrograde motion of Mercury through this same sector, or recovering, for most of August. Other areas that are equally in considerable flux are your home and family sector, which Pluto currently transits, your sector of intimacy and personal evolution, currently graced by Uranus for unexpected events and surprise revelations, plus your relationship sector that governs partnerships of all kinds, and the sector of your habitual day-to-day environment, where Saturn and Neptune reside in close aspect to Uranus and Pluto. It may be that old and outmoded habitual patterns are slipping away to be replaced by healthier ones. Interesting too is the presence of the new 21st century Nature planet, Haumea, at 1° of your sign, closely aspected by Mars in the Full Moon of August 9th, and opposed by Chiron, the Wounded Healer, throughout August. This presages that you could find yourself in love with Nature and natural settings over these Northern Hemisphere summer months, with also a strong presence of internal moral compass. You might be recognizing that the simplest thing to do in most circumstances is to treat others, especially vulnerable others, as you yourself would like to be treated. This can be a salve to ongoing concerns about the world and your relationships, especially as regards some of your most important personal connections.

The recent Leo New Moon from the last week of July has set the tone for August, with a strong emphasis on your tenth house of career, fame, public life, and reputation, represented by the sign of Leo in your solar chart. The thirty-day cycle that follows cover most of August, and encourages you to step into prominence and acclaim, toward your vocational image or ambitions. An exact opposition from the New Moon your transformational Pluto, currently residing in in your fourth sector of home and inner life, is not to be overlooked. There may be an awareness of your sanctuary, the life you live behind closed doors, and what’s safe or familiar.
There’s the potential to be aware of what you’re striving to accomplish, your external status and where you’re headed, but also a reverence for your roots, ancestral origins and your start in life. Resting, nesting, cultivating stability and a steady base could be just as important to you as acknowledging your goals and aspirations. Additionally, this recent New Moon is trine Saturn and Neptune in Aries, and sextile Uranus in Gemini, so your day-to-day habits, workplace settings, a healthy lifestyle, and partnership agreements can also be a significant factor for this month.
Mercury is also retrograde for the first ten days of August, coloring your experience, and recovering for another two weeks after Mercury’s station to direct motion, thus up to the 25th. You might find yourself questioning and reviewing aspects of your work versus your home situation, perhaps partnership agreements or your unconscious process and inner work, with a sense of reevaluating current direction. Your wellbeing, or a different take on approaching your loyalties can play into the way you might perceive this. Additionally, Venus is square Mars, your traditional ruler, in the New Moon chart, so that another consideration may be friendships, community networks, and your goals. A motivation to show up among your friends could impact the promises you’ve been inclined to make and follow through on with partners.
On August 1st, the First Quarter Moon appears in your sign, during which Venus in Cancer is square Saturn and Neptune. This emphasizes a point of tension between progress in your vocational role or the outer impression you project as you get the job done, versus your personal life, growth experiences, and relationships with people encouraging you to explore. You might have to reconcile a focus on professional undertakings, and opportunities that see you discovering more about the world and yourself.
On the 6th, Mars enters Libra and your twelfth sector or withdrawal and catharsis. Here, you could be powering down, diverting attention to private plans, or entering a window where secrets and stealth activities rule. Upon its ingress to this air sign, Mars forms a trine to Uranus and Pluto, and an opposition to Saturn and Neptune,
These aspects are also present during the Aquarius Full Moon which arrives on the 9th. Projects that are hidden from view could draw your attention, so that you’re calibrating internally, yet you could be confronted by the hard work you’ve been putting in, aware of the discipline it’s taken to manage your task load, employment schedules, or health. It may be apparent you’ve been dedicated to routines, or a practice that allows you to maintain your position, but you now might make an effort in an alternative fashion, easing up, finding there’s progress within arrangements that are collaborative. Around this time, the Full Moon illuminates your sector of family and household environments, so a parent, your nurturing tendencies, security, or inherited behavioral patterns might be revelatory, nudging you to address the past. It might be important to acknowledge where you’re from, and changes to the way you operate in contracts, mutually beneficial relationships, or your commitments.
Mercury stations direct in Leo and your sector of outer success between the 10th and 11th of August, so you might find you’re secure taking the stand, or talking publicly about what you want to achieve. Your relationship planet Venus is also conjunct Jupiter at this time, so it’s possible you’ll notice a sweetness around a journey of growth, expansion and knowledge you’ve begun to embrace, which now involves a partner or significant other. Just be mindful that nurturing a path of wisdom, pleasure and global perspective takes you away from daily regimes, and the clarity you’re gaining around what you might be proud to accomplish, which might be frustrating to balance.
On the 15th the Last Quarter Taurus Moon lights up your seventh sector of relationships, so you might embrace someone special that understands and appreciates the path you’re on. During this lunar phase Mercury is sextile Mars, so you’re perhaps thinking about an inner process that allows you to come off well, planning how you might get ahead by taking steps in a confidential setting, or with a hidden agenda. Perhaps you’re maneuvering in a way that’s understated, with actions taken that go unnoticed, yet that lead to a promotion, or the spotlight.
The Sun enters Virgo and your eleventh sector of friendship and communal spirit on the 22nd, becoming the focal point of a significant yod alignment that includes Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto. This is again entirely transformational time as is accentuated in the Virgo New Moon that immediately follows.
This Virgo New Moon hits late evening of the 22nd, or it could be early morning of the next day for the east coast and Europe, and the yod, or “Finger of God”, with the Sun and Moon together as the focus, gets even tighter. Saturn and Neptune are sextile Pluto at the base of this yod, infusing the New Moon with longevity, vision and intensity. You might shift your focus to community circles, and the hopes, dreams and wishes you have for your peers. Your approach to regular maintenance, wellness, home life or your household can feature as part of this fresh start, and, as the New Moon is square Uranus, there’s another dynamic to consider. Long-term plans, your investments, and what you promise to give, share or commit to could impact your new beginning.
