This is another amazing month for you, Aquarius, enhanced by a deep dive to the inside. The Capricorn Solstice from December, and the subsequent Capricorn New Moon, have activated your sector of dream imagination and inner work, and this is combined with the current retrograde of Mercury through this same sector, signaling introspection and reflection. As happy as you are with the science of rationality and what you can see and detect with your five senses, you are also becoming ever more aware this month of what goes on at deeper levels. It takes courage to act upon your most sincere principles and values, and even more to find yourself coming from strictly this internally derived point of view, ignoring consensus thinking and early conditioning. In the January 6th Full Moon, your co-ruler, Uranus, again prominent this month in your home and family sector, has something unexpected to give to you. You are connecting with the psychological roots of your being, and with family members past and present. Your identity continues to evolve as this dynamic month continues to unfold. At some point a new conception might suddenly snap into alignment, taking you home to yourself.

The New Year arrives on a reflective note with Mercury in retrograde motion as you contemplate what lies behind you and what lies ahead. You are also riding the wave from the Capricorn Solstice and Christmastime New Moon that featured a slew of planets in Capricorn, corresponding to your sector of dream imagination and unconscious process. The lunation cycle that was engendered at that time ends with the New Moon in your sign later in the month, on the 21st, so that the first two thirds of January are quite different from its last ten days. You could be encountering important realizations throughout, and the hard work you have done on yourself might start to pay off by its final week. There may be some bitter-sweet realizations or sober perspectives permeating the beginning month of the year. Give yourself permission to be quiet and listen to your intuition. Your ideas are upbeat, with a positive presence of Jupiter in your sector of written and spoken communications so that you might be journaling, or talkative, and expressive of your inner explorations.

Venus enters your sign on the evening of the 2nd which is good news and should help you focus on your needs and desires. Relationships, love, and beauty could be on your mind and it will be a good time to focus on your physical well-being in the coming weeks.

The Cancer Full Moon takes place on the 6th in the sector of your chart that relates to your health, illuminating habits, and routines. The mind-body aspects of your well-being could be emphasized in some ways due to Mercury Retrograde in Capricorn conjuncting the Sun and therefore magnified. You might become aware of how negative self-talk, stress or anxieties might be affecting your health or this may be your cue to let go of any negative aspects of your thinking that are detrimental. If you become aware of the hidden factors affecting your health at this time and have the opportunity to change these patterns consciously.

On the 9th and 10th, Venus in Aquarius forms a trine with Mars retrograde in Gemini emphasizing pleasure and romance. If these things haven’t been forthcoming recently, you may be able to take matters into your own hands. Otherwise, this is a sweet little influence that should bring some easy relating and pleasurable experiences with others.

Mars turns direct in Gemini on the 12th after having been retrograde for the past two and a half months. Things could still continue to feel somewhat nebulous with Mercury still moving retrograde in Capricorn. You could feel polarized between your intuition and your reason. Mercury turns direct on the 18th and finally escapes its retrograde shadow after the end of January.

The New Moon in your sign arrives on the 21st, signaling the beginning of an important new cycle. You might feel a sense of peace for what is and a deeper knowing within you at this time yet you may not be able to put things into words quite yet. Venus conjoining Saturn in Aquarius in this New Moon configuration can continue to bring stabilizing influence around love and relationships, your needs, and your desires. This might be a time of greater maturity and realism for things related to love, pleasure and beauty, and there may be much to be hopeful for as the Sun in Aquarius sextiles Jupiter in Aries, also, which is an extremely positive influence.

On the evening of the 26th Venus enters Pisces, and your values and your finances are enhanced.

From January 28th to the 30th, the month closes with some supportive influences thanks to the Sun in your sign forming a grand trine with Mars in Gemini and the new planet Makemake in Libra. Mercury in Capricorn is also forming a trine with Uranus in Taurus. This is a powerful configuration that suggests the propensity for you to successfully examine your beliefs and worldview to positive effect, while also encountering intuitive realizations that stem directly from your inner world. You could be in a better position at the beginning of February to ask for what you want.
