We have a dramatic Full Moon lunation coming up in the middle of November’s first week, on Wednesday, the 5th, at about 5:20 in the morning PT, later morning for the east coast and Europe. The Taurus sign can be about calmness – as opposed to the Scorpio Sun’s fervent intensity – although that intensity itself has some additional stimulants at this juncture. This Full Moon has the distinction of occurring in synchronicity with Mars at 0° Sagittarius, in partile or same-degree opposition to Uranus at 0° Gemini and in close sextile with Pluto at 1° Aquarius. The Uranus-Pluto trine from the recent New Moon is therefore still with us. Mars is additionally trine Neptune which has recently slipped back into the last degree of Pisces for his final visit there, lasting until January. The Moon also lies in close parallel with Trickster Uranus, further highlighting his potential for surprise events and unexpected revelations.
These three outer planets being highlighted continues the extreme intensity of this month’s lunations, which, for one thing, brings the rebellious and revolutionary combination of Uranus trine Pluto further into the spotlight. Their effects could be redolent of the storied 1960s when they were in conjunction in Virgo, characterizing that era. Mars in such tight opposition with Uranus also indicates the potential for accidents and other unexpected outcomes, because sudden impulse, this combination’s hallmark, can sometimes result in unforeseen consequences. One recommendation for these first three weeks of November is therefore to take a little more time with everything right now, double-checking for safety. It will also be a good practice to think twice before blurting something out in sudden anger, as Mars-Pluto, which we also have going, often inclines us to do.
Mars of course also supplies strong energy for activity in support of your deepest intention, which is a different side of this Full Moon configuration, that can embolden us into concentrated action. There is as well a strong presence in this Full Moon of Eris, feminine warrior in support of soul intention, which can incline us toward making a determined stand for whatever it is in which we most deeply believe. Eris, in Aries, and closely squared by Jupiter, is incidentally in close conjunction with Chiron, the Wounded Healer. Jupiter himself is potent now, in partile trine with Saturn, each at 25° of their respective signs; the Jupiter square with Eris being as close as one tenth of a degree. Thus Eris, too, is powerfully invoked.
In thinking about strong Eris, what comes up is this: it is vitally important in this fall timing that everyone stand up for what they most sincerely believe. That is the message of strong Eris. With Chiron invoked as well, there can be a painful process associated with that – with standing up for what you most sincerely espouse; and it is also true that in dealing with your stated stance, factors of inner wounding might indeed come up, such as issues regarding self-worth. The message there might be that we cannot let such issues stand in our way. Rather, we need to work them through, to whatever extent is possible, and in doing so, enable ourselves to get on with it.
Neptune in conjunction with Saturn, now at four degrees, is himself in Pisces for just a couple of months, stationing to direct motion on December 10th and re-entering the Aries sign to stay on January 26th of next year. The Saturn/Neptune midpoint of 27° Pisces is also closely quincunx Venus at 28° Libra, as is Uranus at 0 Gemini, making a yod to Venus from these powerful archetypes. This brings Venus into this picture as well; along with the strong individualistic stance indicated by the powerful position of Mars at the beginning of Sagittarius, we must also have relationship with others rather than trying to go it alone. And there is the benefit of partnership with like-minded fellow travelers, in order to collaborate with the strength of many minds.
As Margaret Mead reminds us, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.” So as we try to do our best for ourselves, and for our world, we might be able to take heart from that wise phrase and dare to hope, and eventually to succeed.
With the massive changes that are happening now, I highly recommend that folks get a transit report tailored specifically to their chart for the most accurate description of what's in store for you in the months ahead.
Find out with this report that gives detailed descriptions of your transits for a three, six or twelve month period. This report was written by astrologer Henry Seltzer.
All transits are fully interpreted with insightful clues on how to navigate the challenges ahead and gives the date range for when each transit is in effect. Includes transits to planets Mars through Pluto. Also includes interpretations for Chiron - a unique feature of this report!
