A Pisces Full Moon Eclipse of Trust and Interconnection

The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Pisces takes place on September 7th, 2025 at 11:09 AM Pacific Time. The exact position of the eclipse Moon is 15º 22’ Pisces, conjunct the North Node within a few degrees, while the Sun, opposite the Moon, is aligned with the South Node in Virgo. A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth passes between the Sun and the Full Moon, casting the Earth’s shadow on the lunar surface. Symbolically, this can represent the shadow material of the earthly plane being projected into the celestial realm, reflecting back to us what is ready to be shed. Like leaves shaken from the trees in autumn to be mulched, there are patterns here to be broken down, and cycled into new growth. Eclipses are thus portals for sweeping, far-reaching change.

The Pisces Moon with the North Node points us toward embracing transcendental and spiritual principles, opening into compassion, unity, and the awareness of our interconnectedness. The South Node in Virgo highlights the need to sort through what has been useful and release the habits, attitudes, or thought patterns that keep us playing small. Virgo’s purifying discernment can serve the greater whole, yet the shadow side of this sign can veer into perfectionism, harsh self-criticism, or hesitation to pursue something because the uncertainty of moving forth brings up fear. These tendencies may now be what is ready to be composted, creating space for us to carry forward Virgo’s gifts: wisdom gleaned from careful observations, tending to details, and service to greater wholeness.

Because the Full Moon occupies Pisces, the way forward during this eclipse may very well be through intuition, feelings, and deep listening to the language of Spirit. It may be important to remember that while our minds may be a powerful and integral part of navigating this world, during this time it may not be the ideal place to lead from. This is signified by Mercury, while in rulership in Virgo, it is very near the Sun and South Node, indicating it is an important time to question and dismantle thought patterns and belief structures that no longer serve. Mental clarity remains important, but the task is to integrate it with the guidance that flows from the realms of heart space, subtle energy, and intuitive vision. Pisces reminds us that leading solely with the rational mind can obscure deeper truths, whereas allowing ourselves, including our mind, to move with the rhythm of our life force energy we can move with more ease toward healing and alignment. Saturn has also returned to the last degree of Pisces, inviting us to wrap up final lessons of applying our spiritual connection in tangible ways for the next few months before it returns again to Aries next February.

Balance is key here. Opening to Pisces’ softness and transcendental wisdom, and sense of faith and trust can help us navigate the uncertainty and inevitable change that eclipse seasons usher in. At the same time, Pisces energy carries its own pitfalls —  as addiction, escapism, or drifting so far into the ether that meaningful engagement with life dissolves. Floating in fantasy without returning to the body or taking tangible action can leave us unmoored. Staying attuned to the somatic experience is essential, and I encourage you to prioritize felt sensation and grounding practices during this time.

This particular eclipse also carries a blessing in the form of Jupiter’s supportive influence. The Moon and North Node in Pisces form a trine to Jupiter in Cancer, the sign of its exaltation, while the Sun in Virgo makes a sextile. These aspects offer nourishment — emotional, energetic, and spiritual — amid the intensity. Jupiter in Cancer reminds us of the importance of tending to our inner life, our hearts, and to really fill up our proverbial cup. With the outer planets bringing so much fire and air (which can tend to be dry and heating) into the current skies, this moment of water and earth influence offers balm for the soul, a replenishing current of care and tenderness.

There is also a subtle yet notable influence from Venus in Leo. At 15º, Venus makes a semi-sextile to the Sun and forms a quincunx aspect to the Moon. This adds a glimmer of desire to shine, to create, and to celebrate what we love about ourselves and our lives. Venus in Leo reminds us that joy and radiance are not frivolous but vital, guiding principles that help us remain connected to the truth of who we are as we move through moments of deep transformation.

Then, as well, the midpoint of Mars and new Nature planet Makemake is noticeable, being 15° Libra — forming a partile sextile to Venus, semi-sextile to the Sun, and quincunx to the Pisces Moon. According to the research of Henry Seltzer, our founder, Makemake represents, as does Haumea, “profound connection to Nature,” and additionally provides an activist agenda, of seeing a more ideal and compassionate cultural possibility and wanting to do something about it. This startlingly well-aspected midpoint can therefore indicate that there is certain amount of energetic (Mars) activism ( Makemake) that can be foreseen as coming up over these following weeks and months, possibly as a reaction to societal issues of misuse/abuse of power, plundering of precious earthly resources, and the many other injustices rearing their heads in the world at large.

It is striking, too, that while the eclipse axis itself does not connect by direct aspect to the outer planets, it’s significant that all of these — Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto — are currently perched at 1º of their respective signs in very close alignment with each other, as was featured in the recent Virgo New Moon at 0° of the sign — and of several recent New Moon configurations. This is a highly unusual pattern, signaling that we are inhabiting an entirely new cosmic landscape. This lunar eclipse is the first eclipse to occur in this terrain, marking it as a threshold moment. Uranus and Neptune will step back into their previous signs by the end of the year, only to return to these new placements in 2026. All of this signals that we are in the midst of one of the great turning points of our lifetime.

It may feel fraught and overwhelming, but we are also surrounded by new wisdom, new intelligence, and fresh patterns of possibility. It is important now to tune in — through meditation, through the body, through communion with nature and nature’s principles — and really sense this new energetic quality. Allow yourself to feel how the rhythms of life are shifting and how your own organic intelligence is responding to this evolutionary moment.

In this landscape, the Pisces Moon encourages us to lean into dreams and visions, to feel what is possible beyond the limits of old paradigms, and trust in a life-force greater than ourselves. Virgo’s gift is to attend to the details that allow the greater whole to flourish, while keeping a watchful loving eye on those inner voices that criticize and catastrophize. We must listen to the voice of discernment, but not allow judgment or perfectionism to steer our lives. Each of us is called to create from the beauty of our innate wisdom, to collaborate with the intelligence of life itself, and to weave together a tapestry of goodness that honors both spirit and matter.

May this eclipse be a gentle yet powerful portal of metamorphosis, inspiring each of us to move with trust — in this historic time — seeking to actualize and inhabit what is our own unique independent stand, drawn by that inspiration into the cultivation of the life, the community, and the world we long to see becoming made real.
