This is another month that partakes very much of inner work, Scorpio, and ideation below the surface layers of your personality. You might be feeling a sense of participation mystique, whereby you recognize that what you logically drive toward is only a small part of the story. You are in the midst of major self-development, and yet are paradoxically tied to partnership as well, as an adjunct to your own evolution. You have been questioning the impact and the meaning of relationship in your life, and this current cycle serves to clarify these issues. Your values too have been somewhat up in the air, along with your finances. The higher meaning is that you take the material world less seriously and recognize the reality and even the primacy of other planes of awareness. You benefit by staying as open as you can to new realizations, and may well come to epiphanies regarding old patterns that have held you back from the fullest embodiment of that which you were always meant to accomplish.

You have been dealing with significant changes in your relationships ever since Venus, ruler of your seventh house of love and relationships, turned retrograde in your home sign of Scorpio during the month of October. Now, as the month of December begins, and Venus is just separating from one last opposition to Uranus (between your 12th and 6th houses), you are once more visiting the themes of revolution, change, liberation, freedom, and originality in your relationships. It’s time to put the healing lessons you’ve been learning into action and to make good on the changes you’ve been promising yourself you would make over the last few months.
All month long the major planetary action is taking place in Sagittarius and Pisces, between your second and fifth houses. The second house is the house of finances, money, and resources, whereas the fifth is a place of joy, creativity, children and pregnancy. With Jupiter in your second house for the next year to come, you are likely bringing in more money or possibly spending more money. The key words, either way, are “bigness” and “expansion” related to your finances. But since Jupiter also rules your fifth house, it’s possible that you are also looking for new ways to enhance your joy and happiness, your creative life, or your connection to children, or perhaps even your own “inner child.” This month may boil down to a cost/benefit analysis: what do I need and want, what makes me happy, and what will this cost me in the long run'
On December 2nd, the Sun in Sagittarius in your second house will square Mars in Pisces in the fifth house, bringing the qualities of wisdom and childlike joy or exuberance together, but it may also require you to sacrifice something of your time, money, energy, or resources in the process.
Late evening on December 6th, continuing into the next day, the New Moon will also fall in Sagittarius in your second house, making a square to the Mars/Neptune conjunction taking place in Pisces in your fifth house. Over the thirty days of this new lunation cycle, the questions are might ask are as follows. Can money really buy you freedom' In the final analysis, can love really be measured by what we own or the debts we’ve paid off or the rank we’ve achieved in our career' On the other hand, isn’t some investment, some level of sacrifice required for the sake of lasting happiness and peace' While you may be feeling like you want to put your full passion and energy into someone or something special right now, be careful that you don’t chase after a mirage. The real investment, leading to real happiness, and a real creative use of your resources, is to take more regular time out of your schedule to listen to the wisdom of your heart, which will always guide you home to the simplest and most economical place of contentment.
On December 20th, the Sun in Sagittarius in your second house will trine Uranus in Aries in your sixth house, bringing wisdom and action together in a rare but powerful moment of inspiration, independence, and innovation. You are going to find a brilliant way of using what you have in order to make substantive changes that will bring you greater freedom and independence.
On December 21st, Mercury will conjoin Jupiter in Sagittarius in your second house, perhaps signaling an important development, piece of news, announcement, message, or insight related to finances. Again, be careful of the tendency to think too big, to shoot for the Moon and fall off the boat, or to make a rushed decision in a moment of blind excitement.
On December 24th, Mercury in Sagittarius will then square Neptune in Pisces in your fifth house, bringing last month’s Mercury Retrograde full circle, back to the place where it all got started. Again, right now you are sorting through issues related to the creative maneuvering of finances, perhaps in relation to children, or perhaps related to the desire for greater freedom or in order to actualize a creative vision or dream. It’s possible that you won’t be seeing things clearly or that themes of deception, confusion, and fantasy will be mingling closely with issues related to money, work, contracts, bills or expenses. With Venus in your first house all month, you need to be extra careful that your most immediate desires and impulses are not dictating choices you should be making with greater thoughtfulness and rationality. You’ve learned a lot in the past month, but this may be like a test. Have you really heard the message'
Other transits to think about this month include the Winter Solstice on December 21st, and the Full Moon in Cancer on December 22nd. These two transits fall across your third and ninth house axis, the houses of the higher/lower mind, where eclipses will start taking place next month. You are entering a period where you will be learning, and relearning, many important spiritual and psychological lessons.
