Virgo Horoscope for August 2025

This is another interesting and perhaps taxing month for you, Virgo, when you have the double-whammy of Mercury, your ruler, in retrograde motion nearly all month, thus signaling an introspective period of time, and also the sector of your solar chart highlighted by the recent Leo New Moon is the 12th, tied to unconscious process and inner work. Mercury is also there as the month begins, making for a mentality-activated month’s first week with an additional focus on looking within. You are living through a certain degree of questioning and re-thinking of your purpose, as you also attempt to get a better handle on what you have going on beneath your conscious understanding, when you are so internally focused. This is an extremely transformational time, when old outworn habit patterns are up for revision and when relationships and mentorships in your life are undergoing an unusual metamorphosis. You are aware, as you cast your gaze within, of deep questions with outdated answers, and the evolutionary progress that you are simultaneously making as you struggle with this. Your career choices are also in tremendous flux and inspiration; this is sometimes fun, sometimes a little scary, and always surprising. It is worth mentioning that in this vocational area, intuition may well be your guide for surrendering to needed adjustments. In the last week of the month, on the 22nd, the more difficult facets of this could morph and shift. The New Moon in your sign, at 0° again aspects Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto, thus indicating that the final week of August remains extremely transformational extending into September.

As you enter August, you are in the window of the Leo New Moon from the last full week of July which gives a strong emphasis to the themes of this fire sign and brings enormous focus to your twelfth sector of unconscious process, inner work, catharsis, and recovery. This New Moon sets the tone for the thirty-day lunation cycle that follows, lasting most of August, which could give you permission to deeply succumb to private inner work, introspection and healing, or a selfless act of courage. As the New Moon configuration features a trine to Saturn and Neptune in conjunction in Aries, and a sextile to Uranus in Gemini, a significant commitment or bonding experience could factor, along with your career trajectory, which is now perhaps moving in a different, alternative direction. An opposition between the luminaries and Pluto in Aquarius – or your sixth sector of habitual day-today patterns and environment – suggests this an extremely potent lunation, so while you may be reflecting and devoting yourself to quiet time, a rebirth, or making sacrifices, your health and regular workplace environments are subtly transforming and add a pressure of something more to consider.

Mercury, your ruler, is also in retrograde motion for the first ten days of August and recovering for the next two weeks – the retrograde symptoms of introspection and questioning various aspects of your life then gradually subside. There is an inner dialog that accompanies your more routine activities. Your job or habitual behaviors aren’t necessarily easy to reconcile alongside the healing modalities, purging process, or your need to let go and surrender. It could be that outmoded habits are in a process of fading and being replaced by new ones. You might be unravelling as you are also striving to uphold your daily functioning, too. Additionally, as Venus in the chart of the recent Leo New Moon is square to Mars in your sign, your public image, aspirations or career choices might compete with your sense of self, and these affirmative personal actions you’re taking.

On August 1st you encounter the First Quarter Scorpio Moon in your sector of communications, neighbors, curiosity, and learning, during which Venus newly in Cancer comes to square Saturn and Neptune in Aries or your intimacy sector. You may feel conflicted, in one sense keen to socialize, connect to your future vision, participating in the world. Yet intimate agreements and secret steps you’re taking could make it harder to be a part of your community. There may be obligations to important others that hold you back, so that you’re operating in a confined or hidden state of limbo, aware of core vulnerabilities or your primary personal attachments; and yet there are lessons to be learned from all this.

On the 6th, Mars enters Libra and your second sector of values, earnings, and self-worth, where it’s in detriment, and therefore perhaps operating with less drive and initiative. What could be emphasized is making a valuable contribution, being practical or economical, or conversely your spending and your financial position. Yet as Mars arrives opposite Saturn and Neptune, it could be apparent you’re also dedicated to collaborations and joint resources – sharing, merging, and investing in your important relationships. While you could be motivated to make something of yourself, dealing with your assets, and commitments could factor in as well. Mars also forms a trine to Uranus and to Pluto, making a grand trine in Air, and bringing your attention to new ways of seeing your public statement and vocational activity.

On the 9th, the Aquarius Full Moon arrives in your zone of day-to-day environment, habits, maintenance, and heath regimens. This is also where Pluto resides and where there is therefore a focus on transformation, growth, and evolution. The grand trine between Mars, Uranus, and Pluto is still quite active, so that this is a potentially dangerous as well as an evolutionary timing. You could see revelations around your habits, routine appointments, work environment, and healthy lifestyle choices. The themes of inner work, meditation, respite, and your regeneration can continue to draw your attention also, so that part of your work is to acknowledge these hidden parts of yourself as important.

Your ruler Mercury stations direct in Leo between the 10th and 11th of August following its retrograde spell in this fixed fire sign, and begins to slowly recover from the retrograde period over the next two week. At the same time Saturn becomes precisely sextile to Uranus. This is a significant turning point for your inner contemplations, intuition, and retreat, or for gaining closure. Consistent steps taken toward a mutually beneficial contract or pact could now underpin your outer reputation, your ambitions, and how you come across or present yourself. You might pause to take the pressure off, gaining clarity around a window of leave or period of recuperation, with your dreams and spiritual life enriching you from within. Partners might help in focusing and steadying your wilder ideas and impulses, which, however, can also be extremely useful in blowing past former limitations in your thinking and career choice imagination.

Venus in Cancer is conjunct Jupiter at this time, as well. There may be a sense of major growth experienced in community networks, which produces beautiful moments with friends and loved ones.

On the 15th, the Last Quarter Taurus Moon brings attention to your ninth sector of higher mind, travel and evolving wisdom. The Moon is in mutual reception with Venus in your zone of the collective and your own long-term aspirations. It could be apparent that you’re learning among members of your circle, with peers in your network or group paying attention to what you have to share. In this lunar phase, Mercury is sextile Mars, which could encourage you to pull back, strategizing what you might do that’s lucrative, recharging and finding a sense of motivation around your role. It’s possible you’ll connect to insights and new ideas about your self-worth.

The Sun enters your sign on the 22nd, the beginning of “Virgo Season” and a time for you of identity considerations coming to the fore. You might be thinking of the way that you come across to others and this is just as Mercury, your ruler, begins to straighten out as fully recovered from its recent retrograde.

The New Moon at the initial degree of your zodiac sign lands late on the 22nd, early morning the next day for the east coast and Europe. The Virgo New Moon is the focal point of a yod, or “Finger of God” aspect from Saturn and Neptune in Aries, and Pluto. This coming thirty-day lunation cycle signals another extremely intense period, with all these same outer planet aspects still looming. This also signals a fresh start for you personally, for your presence and identity, while also encouraging you to take your wellbeing, physical constitution and a lifestyle practice into consideration, and the long-term investments you’re committing to. The New Moon in your sign is square to Uranus, in your sector of public image, visibility, and vocation, so you might need to reconcile your outer life, professional status or external profile with your sense identity and who you really are.
