This is an exciting month for you, Leo, of through-going metamorphosis of who you are and where headed, with some elements that it has in common with the last several. You are still treading the path of slow cooking transformation, even as you sense new opportunities opening up on your horizon, especially in the significant area of your important relationships. As the month begins, you combine a celebratory philosophic charge with a process of deep intuition to create new ways of understanding yourself at all levels, and for a productive impulse to open up new initiatives in career and public statement. While all this is going on, there is the Mercury Retrograde in your opposite sign to contend with, signalling caution. Conventional astrological wisdom advises not to “push the river” at this time. Use it well, for introspection, for finding out, in the context of these transformational times, what you must cherish about yourself and what you must be prepared to let go of, in the interest of your own growth and well being. This applies to your own life purpose, a fitting subject our your current mediations, and to your relationships, and to your evolving sense of who, at base, you really are.

As the month begins, Venus enters your opposite sign of Aquarius, where Saturn, Jupiter, Mercury and the Sun are already located. Since Aquarius is the sign opposite to yours and corresponds to your partnership sector, this may be quite a significant month for you in terms of relational dynamics. With Saturn residing in Aquarius for the next two years, commitment and also boundaries will be two keywords to remember.
Mars is also prominent at this time, transiting in Taurus, representing your vocational sector, emphasizing your career and public standing. At the beginning of the month, the Sun in Aquarius squaring Mars could bring up tension and it could feel harder to compromise with others. You may have less tolerance which means it could be harder to collaborate. You could also be very busy with projects and furthering yourself in your career. There is drive and ambition at your disposal but the erratic influence of Uranus in your career sector may also be introducing unforeseen elements to contend with.
On February 6th, Venus meets Saturn in Aquarius and this aspect may add astrological energy that will filter through your relationships. You may be feeling a sense of isolation or sadness or the inability to actualize your experience with someone due to emotional distance separating you. There may also be difficult conversations coming up surrounding the need for better boundaries. Venus and Saturn are also sextile to Chiron in Aries, which foretells that the conversations taking place during the first weekend of the month could have a healing influence. With Mercury Retrograde in Aquarius for the first three weeks of February the agreements you have in your partnership may be going through a negotiation process. Mercury meets the Sun on the 8th which marks the halfway point of its retrograde cycle. Mercury’s inferior conjunction with the Sun could bring some clarity and developments. However, Mercury in Aquarius applying to square Mars in Taurus exact a few days later on the 10th shows that there is a potential for challenging or frustrating situations to surface again. Much of the astrology of February is about applying the right kind of pressure for things to evolve while also being aware of the breaking point. Excising patience in all your dealings could preserve your sanity and energy in the long run.
The New Moon takes place on February 11th in Aquarius for a total of six planets currently transiting in Aquarius. This New Moon is a particularly powerful time for you as it takes place opposite to your sign and brings new energy to partnerships may call for relationship compromises. The changes currently occurring are profound yet still invisible. You are being challenged to stay true to yourself while considering others and the importance of their presence in your life. You may be forced to walk the fine line between your need for personal boundaries versus erecting walls around you. Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus which are both the traditional and modern ruling planets of Aquarius are applying to a square with each other at the time of the New Moon and this may highlight a building tension. This first square culminates on the 17th of February carrying a polarizing energy between your personal ambitions and the compromise needed in your partnerships.
This square colors this whole year, as it will occur again from mid-May to July 4th, and from December 2021 to January 2022. As it goes through these subsequent reoccurrences, Saturn square Uranus may be getting you to divide your attention between your career goals and your partnerships. Or there could be exciting professional opportunities on the horizon that are not fully compatible with the demands of a relationship.
The Sun enters Pisces on the 18th signaling the last thirty days of winter in the Northern Hemisphere. The Sun in Pisces continues to bring attention to the important collaborators in your life and the people who are there to support you. Venus follows suit and enters Pisces a few days later on the 25th and will be there until the 21st of March. Benefits coming from your alliances and business partners are possible. Once again you may realize the important support that comes from others and what they have to offer. This time could be characterized by the delicate negotiations needed for you to get what you want without losing your sense of agency.
The Full Moon in Virgo comes along on the 27th and this could also be a time of realization, when you might be able to shed some light on your personal assets and what you actually have at your disposal. You may be more self-sufficient than your situation would lead you to believe. The end of the month is a great time to take stock and sort out what is yours versus what belongs to other people; or what is of value to you versus what you could live without.
