Libra Horoscope for August 2019

This is, Libra, another exciting month of change, along with the traversal of a large learning curve and exploring future directions. The recent Mercury Retrograde time, still winding down this month, has had you questioning certain aspects of what choices you make in terms of career and professional life, with an eye toward transforming these in a fundamental way. You are also likely this month to find your life goals to be in major transition, perhaps along the lines of attempting to forge a closer fit with your most deeply felt values. There is, as well, ongoing transformation at the core, including your understanding of family of origin and current home life, along with familial ties. The structure of these – or possibly your dwelling itself – is changing over a long arc of development that reflects your soul’s desire, slowly becoming more clearly revealed. If this eventually takes you in a more spiritual direction, this too is in alignment with the month’s astrological indications, and ultimately with the dictates of your Higher Self.

The month begins just after a New Moon in Leo in your eleventh house of friends and allies, while Sun, Moon, and you ruler, Venus, in Leo are also making a square to Uranus in Taurus in your eighth house of death, worry, and other people’s resources. The desire to make new friends, or the opportunity to find new colleagues and allies will likely be strong to start the month, and your intuition will be quite powerful. In the tension between Venus and Uranus, you might make unexpected inroads into your own depths, or experiments in intimacy. You might also need to be careful that you are not capitalizing on someone else in any way, or on the other hand being take advantage of by people who may be after something you are in possession of. As the month unfolds, deeper questions about friendships, groups, and allies will continue to unfold, requiring that you make changes where they are most necessary, even if they bring with them some unexpected disruptions.
Late on July 31st, also, or early Thursday, August 1st, Mercury will also turn direct in the sign of Cancer after several weeks of being retrograde in your career house. If you have been experiencing issues around communication, technology, or organization at work, things may start to improve, impediments or delays might begin to lift, or something you’ve been waiting on might be getting ready to go forward.
Between August 5th and August 8th, the Sun and Venus in Leo in your eleventh house of friends and groups will make trines to Jupiter in Sagittarius in your third house of communication, the mind, and short journeys. It’s possible that you will travel to see friends or to participate in some larger group that you share deeper political, religious, or professional interests with. Relationships with your siblings might be in the spotlight, or you also might benefit from associations with others who share similar roots, or similar values and interests.
On August 11th Mercury will then enter Leo and move into your eleventh house of friends and groups, just as Uranus turns retrograde in your eighth house of death and rebirth, and just as Jupiter in Sagittarius turns direct in your third house of the mind and communication. Your learning curve might be extreme. Unexpected changes may lead to new friends, new groups of people entering your life just as old friends are leaving, or exciting new ways of thinking, or even new educational opportunities appearing. After a period of doubt or questioning, you may also be reaching the point where you can make some important decisions, especially those that involve your greater social networks, friendships, and political or spiritual connections.
On August 15th, the Full Moon will fall in Aquarius in your fifth house of joy, creativity, and good fortune, just as Mercury in Leo is squaring Uranus in Taurus. Be careful that you are not indulging yourself at the cost of important relationships or that you aren’t getting stuck on the smallest differences you may have with others rather than seeking out your common interests, goals, and roots. With the Full Moon ruled by Saturn in the fourth house, the need for a deeper sense of security, going forward, may be coloring your choices right now. Be careful not to let this deeper need for a home or a sense of security lead you to make impulsive decisions or compromises that are in fact rooted in fear or worry about the future.
On August 18th, Mars will enter Virgo and move into your twelfth house of self-undoing and dissolution, suggesting a season of potential internal conflict, worry, or even obsessiveness. You may be drawn to inner work, or find that you are especially worried about money, or relationships, since Mars is the ruler of both your financial and marriage houses. Be especially careful that you are not creating conflicts preemptively or imagining stress where it does not really exist.
Between August 23rd and 25th, your ruling planet, Venus, will conjoin with Mars in Virgo in your twelfth house. Then, Mercury will enter Virgo on August 29th, followed by a New Moon in Virgo on August 30th. The emphasis on your twelfth house at the end of the month will tone the next lunation cycle ahead, creating a very deep twelfth-house themed month of September. This will most likely lead you to more fully explore your inner world, including your anxieties and fears, potentially leading you to face an interior voice of doubt, worry, and criticism. If not countered by faith, peace, and patience, this could lead you to making reactive or ill-timed decisions. The best advice for the month ahead will thus be to explore how and where to focus your mind, perhaps especially within the context of all of your most important relationships (personal or professional), so that you are staying within what is true, compassionate, simple, patience, and peaceful. Anything short of this could lead to inner turmoil !
